October Poll!
Added 2024-10-03 00:04:44 +0000 UTCHiya everyone! So sorry for the long break on polls. They are back in full swing, and here is October's poll based on suggestions from comments left on previous poll posts here on Patreon. Thank you for so much variety in your entries. Please feel free to leave a comment on this post of a film you'd like me to include in the next poll, and I will choose at random from requests! This will help me keep better track of recommendations because sometimes I get a lot.
P.S. As always, if your movie doesn't get chosen (maybe it is more niche or lesser known), it will still remain on my list that I keep currently. I will do my darndest to get to it eventually!
Note: Because I will be doing a couple horror movies this month, I've focused on other genres so we have at least one non-horror, for the sake of my sanity๐

2024-10-14 20:09:41 +0000 UTCFor more Michael Keaton I suggest watching Batman from 1989 just to enjoy Birdman from 2014 even more :) Birdman is about an actor who got very famous 20 years earlier by playing a comic book superhero named Birdman but always wanted to be seen as a more serious actor and has struggled to move on since then. So basically Michael Keaton has the lead role in a movie that is all about making fun of Michael Keaton... When watching the movie I often didn't know if it was ok to laugh because the real person they made fun of was right there on the screen... Birdman won four Oscars in 2015, "Best Motion Picture of the Year" being one of them.

2024-10-03 19:49:17 +0000 UTCSince Whimsory missed the joke about "someone dropped a house on her sister" in Beetlejuice, "The Wizard of Oz" might be a good suggestion.

2024-10-03 17:03:47 +0000 UTCMy suggestion is a lighthearted comedy with Tom Hanks called The Burbs from 1989. It also sorta has a spooky vibe to it so it would fit in nicely as an October pick.

2024-10-03 14:36:18 +0000 UTCA random suggestion for a scary movie: The Silence of the Lambs. The only horror movie to ever win the Academy Award for Best Picture, and one of only three movies to win all five of the Big 5 Academy Awards (Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Screenplay).
Chris Gronau
2024-10-03 06:16:27 +0000 UTCVideodrome (1983) is another great Cronenberg movie that I think would really benefit from your style of rewatching and researched outro.
