October Poll Winner: Silver Linings Playbook AND Amelie!

UPDATE: It has come to my attention that I can’t read and Amelie is actually the winner this month😂 I apologize for any confusion and/or annoyance this may have caused. I will still be doing Silver Linings Playbook, but will also do Amelie as well. Thank you Treetop Jones for pointing  this out, and I look forward to watching both soon. Thank you everyone!

With a total of 26 votes, the winner of the October Poll is Silver Linings Playbook! This looks fun, y’all. So excited for this one😁

If your pick wasn’t chosen, that’s okay-back into the hat it goes. Thank you for participating because it’s going to give this channel a lot more variety. Looking forward to watching this with ya!

P.S. To suggest a movie for the next poll, please leave your recommendation here or in the comment section of the poll from. I will choose five at random from there. It doesn’t need to be a popular movie at all!

Apocalypto (2006), if you please 👍 It's getting a 19-years-later sequel next year, so it would be kind of apropos.

I Own Two Hats

Event horizon (1997) Prince of darkness (1986) __------__ RomCom; 50 first date (04). There is something about Mary (1998) <=-=> Uncut gem (2019) Magnolia (1999) Delicatessen (1991)

Luckily it's not a holiday-dependent movie so can be scheduled anytime. Everyone will (rightly) suggest "It's A Wonderful Life" for December, but I'll suggest "The Bishop's Wife" (1947) because it's very cute, has a great message, and she probably hasn't seen it.

Paul Stelter

Heat (1995)

Cameron Kerby

I highly recommend Casablanca, great movie.

AbbyNormal

As a former projectionist at a movie theater I have to suggest number 49 on the list, Cinema Paradiso (theatrical version though, not directors cut)

Lachrisho

What Y'all think: "Jerry Maguire" (1996)

Randolph Tirazona

Fargo (1996)

richard wilkinson

Three quick recommendations: FRAILTY (2001) is hella creepy, and is the only movie directed by (and starring) Bill Paxton of ALIENS. Co-starring Matthew McConaughey. THE IRON GIANT (1999) THE GREEN MILE (1999) They're on the Top 250 list for good reason.

Paul Stelter

My reason for gravitating towards the Whimsical One is that she actually does react to the films she watches (beyond the exaggerated facial expressions employed by so many "reactors"). Most simiilar channel owners just show an extended highlights reel of a movie, pull shocked/happy faces at the appropriate moments, then say OK GUYZ THAT'S IT SEE YA NEXT TIME. What's the point in that? Ms. Whimz does a proper review and reflects on her personal feelings toward the film, which is as it should be.

OK. A good solution, as you may have already recorded S.L. Amelie is a fun film.

Oh geez, you’re right😳 So sorry! I don’t understand why my brain does this. Thank you so much for pointing this out. I’ve updated the results post to include both😁

Here's one too often over looked, cerebral to the core, labeled as Thriller/Fantasy. "After the Dark" (2013).

Randolph Tirazona

Trying again to get this seen by you: Amelie got 38% Silver Linings got 23%, it wasn't the winner.

One of many reasons your channel is beloved and you are such a valuable presence in reaction arena. Your not afraid to go with your gut and give the people what they want. We love the top 200 list but like your willing to switch it up every know and again. Cheers and Regards

I realized later on that The Man From No Where was originally recommended by me, but I must have forgotten since it had been a while >.< Anywho, I am going to suggest it again :)

Rainingmadness

Raising Arizona

I'll be fascinated to hear your thoughts on "A Clockwork Orange", but you can wait a while on that one. I don't think you'll find it as disturbing as TCM, but it is disturbing. The disturbing elements are necessary though, to emphasize the point. And the interlaced moments of dark humor will allow you to recover from the overwhelming parts throughout. Pace yourself. Only when you're ready. 👍

Oh I must've missed a vote... Ah, heh I guess I might've voted for Walter Mitty 🙂

Mannygogou

Yes, I looked up the math, and you're correct.

It's a Wonderful Life (1946)

Tom Tattershall

Knives Out is a fun movie.

Chris Gronau

Looking at the poll I see Amelie is in the lead with 38% of the 69 total votes which works out to 26 votes. Silver Linings Playbook is 2nd place with 23% of the votes. Both good movies but I'm confused about the winner.

Tom Tattershall

I'm baffled, the poll is set up in in %, and the comparison: Amelie= 38% Silver Linings= 23%
