It's very dark compared with Raiders, but at the same time I always appreciated it for being different: it's based on old adventure serials where the hero is in a completely different place and story every time, so it fits. Some people didn't like this one as much because it has too many brown people in it and other people don't like it as much because the way it depicts said brown people can be pretty insulting. The first group can kick rocks and the second group I agree with but I still think this one is better than the fourth or fifth films in the series. I wish you well with your health stuff!

2025-02-10 14:19:00 +0000 UTCAs to the lack of Marion in this movie, Temple of Doom is actually a prequel to Raiders. You can tell because the beginning of Raiders shows an intertitle of "South America 1936", whereas Temple of Doom has one saying "Shanghai 1935". So, the events of Temple of Doom take place about a year before Raiders, and Marion is still tending bar somewhere in Nepal....
