If you want to see 2 zany comedies that inspired Robin Williams check out "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" and "The Nutty Professor". Both from 1963, and both a lot of fun. Robin was a big fan of Jonathan Winters who played the moving van driver in the first one. He also admired Jerry Lewis who directed and starred in the second one. A true masterpiece of "nuttiness". 🤣

I guess these wildly imaginative, but freaky and scary children's stories go all the way back to Grimms' Fairy Tales. I remember the book "Where the Wild Things Are" which was definitely scarier than the Dr. Seuss books I was used to. In the movies, "The Wizard of Oz", and the child catcher scene from "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" made a lasting impression on me as a kid. 😱 Dick Van Dyke was great in that one. Hopefully he makes it all the way to 100 later this year. 👍

Tree climbing? Not much into TV? You shoulda been born in the 60's south. We had a lot of Live Oaks and Magnolia trees which were fun to climb. And only 3 channels of TV. I was usually outside too. But I would always watch Looney Tunes every Saturday morning, and the zany 60's sitcoms during the prime time hour at 7pm. If I had been born in the southwest, I would have been out hiking a lot. I went to Zion and Bryce once in Utah. Best hiking ever! Those places are like another world. If you live near there, I'm jealous!
