Mythic 6.0 Cover, New Splatbook, and Surgery

A few things to cover, now that my surgery is finally getting scheduled. With this, I've decided to go about a few things differently.

SURGERY AND MYTHIC 6.0

Due to me not knowing how long I might be recovering without being able to type well, or really being able to do much of anything, I'm putting off rushing forward with the Mythic 6.0 full release. Think of it as a blessing in disguise. Not only will we get more time for feedback to make sure Mythic 6.0 is as best as it can be, I'm also getting a splatbook done in the meantime for a MASSIVE expansion on weapon modification for Mythic.

MYTHIC 6.0 NEW COVER

With the extra time being given for this release, my surgery recovery, and the new splatbook work, I've decided to get a new cover made using the Patron funds from you all. With this, Mythic 6.0 will have a fresh coat of paint to usher in the new era of Mythic and 100DOS. This cover will be done by my old friend Jo, who has done the last 2 covers for the system.

MYTHIC 6.0: WARZONE SPLATBOOK

The Mythic 6.0 Warzone Splatbook is a complete overhaul of the original Warzone splatbook. The original Warzone splatbook was a commissioned piece for the edition it was made in. I kept it updated for one more release after, but it since became a problem trying to keep up with. Due to the new overhauls in how weapons are figured, balanced, and priced, it became even more difficult. 

What the original Warzone Splatbook did was give players the Halo 5: Guardians weapon variants. These variants offered unique ways to use these specific weapons, which were more limiting than the new plan I had. So, instead of prebuilt weapons, you'll get the ability to use modular versions of these original variants, turned into weapon modifications.

So now we have the new Warzone splatbook. This new splatbook offers three tiers of weapon Modifications not offered in the original book. The first tier is Standard Modifications. These are Modifications similar to those in the main handbook, which covers sight modifications, shotgun chokes, and more. These Modifications follow the standard limitations of the main handbook.

The second tier are Variant Modifications. Variant Modifications offer more enhancements to weapons than your usual modifications. These offer many different types of upgrades and changes. Variants are limited to 3 per weapon.

And finally, Unique Modifications. Unique Modifications are limited to only 1 per weapon. Unique Modifications offer huge benefits, upgrades, or just pure overhauls of how your weapon might work.

In total, you could use 1 Unique Modification and 3 Variant modifications to create an entirely new weapon that performs differently from anything seen in Mythic. Or, you could just create a weapon that performs at its absolute peak potential.

Now, with this in mind, GMs should show discretion with what's being created using this splatbook. Players could end up creating absolute powerhouses that a GM might not be prepared for. The potentials are nearly infinite with this splatbook. I'm halfway done with it and currently have 4 pages of modifications available. 

The Warzone Splatbook will be released before my surgery so we can get feedback on it and take in player feedback to fill out a new section for non-canon weapon modifications that would further increase the amount of options players and GMs have.

So, I hope that me giving more time for the full release of Mythic 6.0 isn't a letdown. I'm truly doing this to offer the best for everyone. And because I don't want it to seem like I'm just pushing it back further to get patreon money for longer, I'm putting more work into previously-planned splatbooks. If it ends up taking even longer than this, I'll be working on a new splatbook which has yet to be announced as the details on what exactly this splatbook will offer are still undecided. I do know it will have aspects for GMs to get more rules for story events or more unique scenarios. But that's all for now.
