Experiment 76 Part 2 (Scenes 52-59)

Scene 52:

Ivana sat in the driver's seat of her SUV, spun around, her petite feet dangled. The size of the smartphone in her hands was almost comical, its proportions now resembling a small tablet in comparison to her shrunken self. She took a deep breath, steeling herself for the conversation ahead.

She flicked through her contact list, her eyes lingering on the names of her colleagues. It would have been easier to ask one of them for help, but the thought of becoming a laughingstock in her scientific circle was unbearable. A self-inflicted shrinking incident was not the kind of reputation she desired.

Reluctantly, her finger stopped on Aurora's contact. She had no other choice; she needed to limit the number of people who knew about her predicament. She pressed the call button and held the oversized phone to her ear, hoping fervently that Aurora's roommate had returned the device to its owner.

After a couple of rings, Aurora's voice came through, sounding surprisingly calm. "Ivana? I was about to head over to your place. I figured you must have called an Uber to get home last night..."

Ivana cut her off, her voice terse. "Actually, I drove home. And now I'm back at the lab."

A moment of stunned silence followed. "You drove home? In your... state?" Aurora's disbelief was palpable.

"I don't want to discuss that right now, Aurora," Ivana said sharply. "I need your help. I need you to come to the lab. Now."

Aurora didn't respond immediately. "Alright, I'll be there," she finally said, her tone thoughtful. The call ended, leaving Ivana alone with her thoughts, waiting for Aurora's arrival.

Scene 53:

The roar of a car engine pulled Ivana's attention away from her oversized phone. She watched as Aurora's car rolled up and came to a halt. She sat on the large SUV seat, her legs swung in the empty space beneath her.

She held her breath, hoping that Aurora wouldn't notice her further reduction in size. Her heart pounded in her chest as she waited for Aurora to exit her car. Her eyes stayed fixated on the vehicle, watching as the driver's side door swung open and Aurora stepped out, her eyes scanning the area before finally landing where Ivana sat.

Scene 54:

Aurora approached the open driver's side door, standing next to Ivana who remained perched on the large SUV seat. Her feet swung idly in the air, the stark contrast of their size difference momentarily hidden by their respective positions.

"I'm glad you're alright, Ivana," Aurora began, her voice soft. "I'm sorry about last night. I shouldn't have left like that..."

Ivana waved her apology away with a dismissive hand. "Let's not dwell on that. We have more important things to focus on."

Because Ivana was sitting, the further reduction in her height was masked. "Why did you come back to the lab, Ivana?" Aurora asked, her brows furrowing in curiosity.

"...I was collecting data." Ivana responded vaguely, avoiding Aurora's gaze.

Aurora gave her a skeptical look but didn't press further. "And why didn't you drive back home again? You managed it last night at your new size."

Ivana felt a surge of anxiety at the question. She knew the real reason - she had shrunk even more, making it impossible for her to safely operate the vehicle. But she couldn't admit that. "I... I realized it wasn't safe. I shouldn't have driven home last night in the first place. I need you to drive me back."

She paused there, the anticipation building as she prepared to hop off the seat, hoping Aurora wouldn't notice her further reduction.

Scene 55:

Ivana took a deep breath and pushed herself off the SUV seat, landing lightly on the ground next to Aurora. Her once tall stature was now dwarfed by Aurora's average height, the top of her head barely reaching the base of Aurora's breasts.

Aurora blinked, taking a moment to process the sight in front of her. "Wait a minute... were you this short yesterday?" she asked, her voice filled with disbelief.

Ivana tried to keep her composure, even as Aurora reached out and placed her hand flat on top of her head. "Yes..." she lied, hoping to diffuse the situation.

Aurora frowned, her hand still on Ivana's head. "I don't think so, Ivana... I remember you being at least eye level with my bre... chest, right?"

Ivana sighed, knowing she couldn't keep up the charade. "Alright, fine!" she admitted, her voice heavy with frustration. "I tested the portal again. I thought it might restore me to my original size, but it just made me smaller. That's why I can't drive home and why I need you to take me home." she admitted with defeat.

Aurora's eyes widened in awe as she took in the sight of her boss, reduced even further in size. "Wow, Ivana... just wow." She shook her head in disbelief, her gaze never leaving the shrunken woman before her.

Scene 56:

Aurora's disbelief was palpable as she bent down, bringing herself nearly eye-level with the significantly smaller Ivana. Her face was close to Ivana's, her wide eyes taking in every detail of the shrunken woman.

"I can't believe you're even smaller," Aurora said, her voice filled with shock and curiosity. "And I can't believe you would test the portals again without someone with you."

Ivana crossed her arms, her eyes narrowing at Aurora's words. "I was sure it would work this time. Besides, you left your phone here. I had no way of asking you to come."

Aurora frowned, her gaze dropping to Ivana's petite body. "Well, it obviously didn't work," she retorted, motioning towards Ivana with a sweeping gesture. "And I don't appreciate you blaming this on me. You could have waited ya know..."

Ivana waved off Aurora's protest, her patience wearing thin. "Just take me home, Aurora."

Aurora sighed, her eyes lingering on Ivana's smaller form before she straightened up. Despite their heated exchange, she knew she couldn't leave Ivana there in her current state. The drive home would certainly be an interesting one.

Scene 57:

As they made their way towards Aurora's car, Ivana found herself trailing behind the taller woman, her head tilted up to look at her. It was an unfamiliar and uncomfortable perspective for Ivana, who was used to looking down on Aurora.

Aurora continued to lecture her as they walked, her tone stern. "Ivana, you can't just go testing the portals by yourself again. It's too risky."

Ivana bristled at her words, feeling like she was being scolded like a child. "That's not your place to say, Aurora."

Aurora turned to look at her, her eyes flashing with newfound confidence, due to the size disparity. Her shrunken boss was much less intimidating. "It is my place if you expect me to continue helping you out," she retorted.

Ivana grumbled under her breath, unhappy with the turn of events but unable to deny the truth in Aurora's words. Aurora didn't seem fazed by Ivana's discontent. Instead, she continued talking, her words taking Ivana by surprise.

"You know, I just dropped my little sister off at her friend's house for a sleepover. I have something in the car that should help keep you safe while we drive back."

Ivana frowned, puzzled. "What are you talking about?" But as they approached the back seat of Aurora's car, a dreadful suspicion began to dawn on her.

Scene 58 ans 59:

The backseat door of Aurora's car swung open to reveal what she had been talking about: a booster seat. Ivana froze at the sight of it, her face draining of color.

"No. Absolutely not!" Ivana said, her voice filled with a mix of disbelief and indignation. "I am not a child, and I refuse to use a booster seat!"

Aurora shot her with a stern look, her arms crossed over her chest. "Ivana, this is about your safety. My little sister is legally required to use a booster seat and she's..." Aurora's hand hovered a few inches above Ivana's head, "...this tall."

Ivana tried to find a middle ground. "I'll sit in the back seat, but I'm not getting in that booster seat." Ivana retorted, her face set in a stubborn scowl.

"Oh, c'mon, Ivana. It's not about being an adult or a child. It's about physics and safety regulations," Aurora argued. "You might be an adult, but physically, you're the size of a kid."

"I am not a kid, Aurora! I'm an adult, and a scientist! I've dedicated my life to science and experimenting, not to be belittled by a college student!"

"And yet here we are, Ivana, having this discussion because of your scientific 'experimenting'," Aurora shot back, her words sharp.

The argument continued to escalate, with Ivana insisting on her dignity and Aurora standing firm on the matter of safety. Finally, Aurora put her foot down. "Look, Ivana, you either sit in the booster seat, or you're not getting a ride home."

Ivana felt a rush of anger, her fists clenching at her sides. She was used to being the one in charge, the one in control, especially around Aurora, not being dictated by her, a young woman barely out of her teens. But she also knew she had no choice.

"Fine..." she spat, struggling to keep her voice steady. "But if you so much as think about taking any pictures or letting anyone see me like this, I will erase every hour of work you've done."

Aurora held up her hands, her expression sincere. "I promise, Ivana. No pictures, no telling anyone. You have my word." And with that, Ivana was left to face the reality of her new predicament. The drive home was going to be a long one.
