Avoid Extra Fees: Subscribe Directly with Credit Card or PayPal on Patreon

If you subscribe using Apple Pay or through the iOS app, you might notice higher charges. This happens because Apple’s in-app purchase system requires a hefty 30% fee on any digital transactions on Patreon.
What does that mean for you?
For subscribers: If you sign up via an Apple device, you’ll pay more for the same membership compared to subscribing directly on Patreon. For example the monthly tier which should cost you $4.50 will cost you up to $6.00, and $12.00 tier will be up to $16.00 due to the cost from apple fees.
For me as a creator: I either have to absorb this extra fee or increase the tier prices, which isn’t ideal for anyone and which I want to avoid.
To avoid these extra costs from Apple Pay and to ensure you pay the original, lower pricing, I encourage you to use a credit card or PayPal as your primary payment method by subscribing directly through the website. This way, you’ll continue to enjoy all the membership benefits without the additional burden of Apple’s fees, and you’ll be able to enjoy my work with the lower cost.
