Behind the Self Portrait: The Photos After I was Burglarized and I Locked Myself in my Room for a Week

oh that's a good question... hm. I don't think I have a hard time looking at self portraits, but there are photos out there that hurt my tummy a little bit that other photographers have taken, and have deleted people from my life because of it. I don't look at those :) self portraits are my safe haven. even if I do them after a hard thing, it's my processing space, so there's always a good vibe from them and LOL to jpgs. I just had a photography student and told her about RAW and that she'll probably need to get an external HD or ten :P

It is strange how trauma can trigger the creativity. Are there any of your self portraits that were taken after some traumatic event that you find hard to look at, or even deleted? Oh, I did that same thing as you with jpeg instead of raw...I didn't have that much space on my old computer. And I damn myself for certain photos not being raw. And a lot of other things I wish I'd known in my early DSLR-days.
