This is it, the latest animation. This is a big one. And a long one. It took me a long time to make. They all do. This one was mostly drawn/painted on paper/canvas/wood before being photo'd and scanned and then animated in After Effects.
Based on dreams though not a specific dream. My dreams are usually stranger than this actually but there's a point where narratives break down and become incomprehensible. The dreamlike nature of this is expressed in the semi-broken continuity of certain strands of the story. Characters and situations change but certain aspects remain. This is about as detailed as I will be about what it is. The rest is up to you.
I have decided not to say "based on dreams" and stuff like that any more. It's what you make of it. I don't expect this to be popular like Salad Fingers or Cream. But this is my favourite style.

I find myself revisiting this animation a couple of times a year. It’s definitely one of my absolute favorites of yours. All of the installments of the Sock series are meaningful to me, really. I am so inspired by the dreamlike quality of your work. I wish my dreams were anywhere near as interesting and bizarre as yours must be. Thank you for sharing your heart and mind with us, David. So grateful to be able to come back to it time and time again, year after year. I never get tired of it. ❤️
