The strange love of a ghost

Hello, everybody!

So soon to be released game, the fourth installment of the adventures of the Witch and her pets )))).

What can I say, the game is being intensively finalized to make it look better.

What can I ask for? Probably some activity, screenshots, reviews, that sort of thing. If you have an idea and support to write a review outside of the received keys it would be great, because no matter how cool the game about the demon of candles was, and it fell for this reason.

Whatever!

Glad you're here!

Приветствую! вопрос из чистого интереса: а бета тестов не проводите?

Steam has an algorithm, quite complex, and it doesn't disclose how it works. That's right, otherwise Steam is in danger of turning into something terrible. But you can roughly understand how it works - the game must bring money and like players, there must be activity inside the game, on the page and so on, it all analyzes the algorithm and decides whether to continue to promote the game or to stop. - This is roughly how it works. There are some tools available to the developer, but if the factors are against him, it's all over. It's pretty tough, but Steam always gives everyone an equal start. That's why we love Steam. In the case of Daemon of Candles, it was the low launch and the lack of reviews. That's why the traffic to the page went down sharply, and then Jack couldn't get out of this peak ))). But that's okay, this guy is not to be trifled with.)))

Wow, I didn't know Steam only gives 2 days to make or break a game. That's harsh, especially for indie developers. Perhaps you can look into what's the best day to release a game, like just before the weekend, so more people can play and generate activity for the game. I will make sure to leave a feedback for Witch 4 during the crucial 48 hours.

Ahjenta

I don't use positive feedback racking, it's not fair. And I'm not going to do it. I also don't encourage you to do it, by any means. Everything has to be done on your own. But I wouldn't want to get the same situation as with Daemon of Candles when Steam just cut off traffic after two days. Let's just say it affected the budget of The Witch 4. Well, we'll see what happens this time, the game will be released anyway. ;)

You can write a review for the game even if you receive the keys to it. You just have to mark it as "I received this product for free" in your review. The only thing Steam prohibits is if the developer gives out the game for free on the condition that people write POSITIVE reviews for it. In fact, since the people who receive keys are all Patreon monthly subscribers, I would argue that they are not getting the game "for free".

Ahjenta

Ah, well I'm looking forward to the game, and I'll make sure to leave a review about it

StrangeFate

I'll send out the keys anyway. No the point is different, Candle Demon almost failed because there were no reviews in the beginning, Steam just chopped traffic in the absence of activity in the game, in reviews, and other factors and then everything went very bad. I'm just saying that if someone wants to buy the game and write a review, especially in the first two days of the day, it will help a lot. It's everyone's free will, it will not affect my key distribution in any way

Elbaf

So if I'm reading this correctly, you're going to be sending out early access keys or something for people to use to review the game?
