IMPORTANCE ANNOUNCEMENT 2 - Patreon Updates

Hi Guys,

Whew. This has been a hectic weekend.

There are a few things I'd like to say in this post because I want to be completely transparent with all of you.

I'm disabled. I can't really use my hands, but the reason for that is because my upper body itself is a bit strange. The disability itself started a while ago, but two weeks ago I woke up in a lot of pain with my whole right-side numb, and a couple of other health issues have been piling up, and we decided to move up tests as things seemed to be progressing well but then took a more sudden turn.

My doctor and neurologist did quite a few tests. In the end I've been told the options of MS or Cancer, with a chance of something else less serious. Honestly, that was a really big shock. Thankfully, its not confirmed (and I'm hoping its something smaller! It's just less of a chance of it.) but its still a fairly big blow to my daily life and mental health.

I thought (at first) that I could get over that mental shock in a couple of days. It turns out that may have been wishful thinking. Until I do know the answer (tests will be fully done within a week I hope, and longer if its more serious I believe.) I likely won't be able to write, and definitely not consistently.

Unfortunately, I also can't guarantee I'll be able to write after getting back the results because I'm not sure what they'll be. They could be good, or bad. I'm hoping for one of the good options but they still require downtime (It's more like surgery to fix the disability, or permanent disability that isn't that serious, or it'll heal with time).

So, I've come to the decision to switch my patreon to support only, with no guarantee of extra or advanced chapters being posted per week. This does not mean no chapters will be posted. But they will likely be infrequent and far between each other.

This is because no matter what the results my life outside of writing is probably expected to get a fair bit busier, whether its due to surgery being needed or in order to figure out how my future will go.

I understand this will decimate my patreon. To be honest that's not a decision I make lightly, since I already can't work with my disability and my patreon was finally earning enough money this month to look like it'd eventually earn me the equivalent of a full-time wage.

However, its the decision I have decided to make based on the facts available to me. I intend to keep working on Mark of the Crijik, its just that sometimes life hits people unexpectedly and I happened to get hit.

Does this mean I'll stop writing? No. Not at all.

But for the next while I'll be resting. Then I'll get the results of my final tests and decide from there. I sincerely thank all of you for following and reading Mark of the Crijik. It means a lot to me that you've all believed in or enjoyed the story enough to support it. I still have my screenshots of my first patron and others and look at them with a smile on my face.

Thank you so much for your time.
