What a great anime, and your reaction was wonderful ladies.💜 I almost thought the director was going to deprive me of a happy ending.😅 Tien is really a good observer. I didn't even make the connection between them forgetting each other because Mitsuha is still alive. Lan was right in the end, Taki and Mitsuha live in different times. Taki is from the present and Mitsuha lives 3 years in the past. So she is three years older. That's why Taki didn't recognize her when Mitsuha visited him in Tokyo. That was also the reason why they couldn't call each other. The only thing that is illogical is that neither of them has ever looked at a calendar.😅

At the end with the newspapers/videos of the town evacuated, Taki was explaining how the town had no deaths due to the mayor getting everyone to safety. He also explains how the mayor had to quit his job because him saving everyone before the disaster lead to conspiracy theories about how he knew about the comet. A recommendation would be Suzume. It's made by the same creator and just as good.

Lol people bought girls bathwater, i am sure thy will buy shrinemaiden wine. in the ddr prison inmates made alcohol using a similar methode but qith bread and lan is correct. "I" can at least be: "watashi" (neutral), "atashi" (only for girls), "boku" (only for 'hero'/nice guys), "ore" (for rought guys/evil guys/matcho/ or among close male friends); very rought explanation, but more than enough to understand any anime

Yes it’s very difficult and confusing even for Japanese. Kanji is one of them. Kanji are the same characters used in traditional and modern Chinese. Its just when there spoken in Japanese there are pronounced using the Japanese vocabulary.

Towards the end when they were writing their names on each other’s hands. Taki wrote すきだwhich is Japanese for love. It is viewed by a lot fans Taki just wrote how he felt since he’s always been straightforward in that way. However, when it comes to acts of love it’s theorized they are protected by another god. So when, earlier in the film when their memories of each other and the journals and text between them each disappeared. His love confession can’t be erased because it’s protected. This is just one of many theories it’s just one I like.
