The word for the comedy style, especially Leslie Nielson as the doctor, is deadpan. It's where you deliver the joke with a straight face, very serious. I know said you just watched The Naked Gun and that's his whole style in that film.

Random crazy things just happen, or often someone says something and then it happens, like the shit hit the fan scene for example.😂 The movie is so old I don't even know all the references to other movies that have been made.😅 That was an awesome reaction ladies!💜

The Naked Gun series (made by the same people), is even funnier in my opinion, so if you're looking for more laughs, keep that on your list.
