2025-01-04 08:08:45 +0000 UTCWhat a contrast, two cute princesses watching a science fiction horror movie.😅 The movie may be a slow burner but it is still one of the great classics. It was also the first "action" movie with a female lead. Ellen Ripley played by Sigourney Weaver is such a great character. Quote from Lan "Just open the door, dump him outside and fly back." Lan is so pragmatic and clever, I think she would survive any crisis.😅 I once read that the scene in which the alien bursts out of Kane's chest was partly improvised. Apparently the film director did not tell the actors (except for the one playing Kane) what was going to happen in the scene in order to get a more authentic reaction from them. The alien was designed based on the art by HR Giger. He was an artist who was known for combining organic and mechanical components in his works. That's why the Alien looks like a machine in parts. In the alien movies, a grim picture of the future is often shown in which the mega-corporation Weyland-Yutani (that's the company that is always talked about) has almost unlimited power. Human lives count for nothing for the company. They probably didn't send a crew of robots because robots are probably more valuable than humans. I think the universe is so big, there just have to be aliens somewhere. But like you, I hope they don't visit us for a while. I don't know if anyone undertakes such a dangerous and long journey, they have something planned and probably nothing good.😅 That was an awesome reaction, Angels, as always!💜

2025-01-04 08:04:18 +0000 UTCDan O'Bannon was the writer who came up with this story. He suffered from chronic stomach pain, he actually died from his stomach issues. He wrote a lot of great movies, Heavy Metal, Total Recall, Lifeforce. Mother is the ships A.I. that works for the company and has a priority to make money and discover things over the safety of the crew. You have to suspect that the company has many secret androids on their ships. The second of these movies, Aliens, is really great. This movie is dark because the "Alien" is really just a tall guy in a suit, but James Cameron directs the second film and special effects really have improved a lot. There's many sequels but in my opinion you can skip all of them until you get to the recently released Alien: Romulus.

2025-01-04 05:11:27 +0000 UTCGreat reaction, Angels. Helmets and face masks do not protect you from the “facehuggers”. When Kane is first attacked he is wearing an environment suit with a helmet. The facehugger attached itself to the front of his helmet and used its acid to dissolve the helmet so it could get to his face. Once the facehugger has impregnated the host it dies. Later the Alien is “born” by bursting out of the host’s chest. The newborn Alien is very small and vulnerable. It compensates for this by rapid growth, quickly becoming a fully grown adult.
