Tasty Wheat is actually referring to "Cream of Wheat". Its very popular in the Middle and Upper parts of the US. Its a made with wheat kernels in a milk sauce that usually heated. Usually eaten for breakfast. Its fairly filling.

Don't be ridiculous. Just because a movie exists it doesn't mean they have to watch it. They're under no obligation to do so. They don't even need to watch the next two. Let's face it, they're nearly as bad as the fourth. But I am not going to try to tell the Angels what they should and shouldn't watch. It's their right to make up their own minds as to what films they're interested in watching and reacting to.

Come on man lol that means Asian Angels would have to watch every piece of crap movie no matter what. Let them react to the good movies which is the Trilogy. Not the abominations

That's the same kind of silly behavior people trot out in regard to the Indiana Jones films. Whether you like it or not, the fourth movie exists. Putting your fingers in your ears and pretending not to acknowledge that fact changes nothing.

I'm glad that you recognized Keanu Reeves as John Wick. The stunt double for Keanu Reeves in the Matrix is the director of the John Wick movies. He is an expert in martial arts and action movies, that's why John Wick is so great.
It's nice to watch these old Sci-Fi movies now that AI is a real thing.
Also the Matrix is real ... probably lol.

The first movie is brilliant and groundbreaking. Unfortunately, after that they just get exponentially worse. The most recent one is absolutely unwatchable dreck. As much as I dislike all of the sequels, I would never suggest you not watch them. Everyone should make up their own minds.

It’s funny Tien said “is this a Bollywood movie?!” When he stopped the bullets.
What’s funny is this sort of stuff had never been depicted in movies before this film. Matrix revolutionized a lot of filming techniques with many of the shootouts in this film, and of course the action is tied to the story (Neo and others are capable of controlling or manipulating the code in the Matrix to do what they want)
But Bollywood movies began copying American action movies. Sometimes as parody, but mostly they just give random people unlimited magical Bollywood power to heroes.
Sadly the over saturation of Bollywood using these techniques in places it doesn’t make sense, has kind of made it a joke, when in the 90s “bullet time” was mind bending, and revolutionary. Now it’s a Bollywood cliche.

It is an important movie for today as the fascist government in America is trying to erase trans people which is terrifying
The movie was written by two trans women and Keanu is s wonderful actor to take this role as he us one of the best humans in my country
Explanation
The Matrix is often interpreted as an allegory for the transgender experience, with its themes of identity, transformation, and liberation resonating deeply with many in the LGBTQ+ community. The protagonist, Neo, begins the story feeling out of place in his own life, disconnected from the world around him, much like the dysphoria many transgender individuals experience. His journey of self-discovery mirrors the process of coming to terms with one's true identity, as he awakens to the reality that the world he knows is a constructed illusion. The red pill, which Neo takes to escape the Matrix, symbolizes the choice to embrace one's authentic self, even if it means facing societal rejection or hardship. This act of choosing truth over comfort parallels the courage it takes for transgender individuals to transition and live openly in a world that often marginalizes them.
Moreover, the character of Switch, who was originally written to be perceived as male in the real world and female in the Matrix, further underscores the film's connection to gender fluidity and transformation. While this aspect of the character was ultimately not fully explored in the final cut, the Wachowskis, who are both transgender women, have since confirmed that the film was indeed informed by their own experiences with gender identity. The Matrix's overarching narrative of breaking free from oppressive systems and embracing one's true self can be seen as a powerful metaphor for the transgender journey. It speaks to the struggle of existing in a society that imposes rigid norms and the liberation that comes from rejecting those constraints to live authentically. In this way, The Matrix transcends its sci-fi roots to become a poignant reflection on identity and the human desire for freedom.

This movie was such a big event back then. I remember it came out around the same time as Star Wars Episode 1 and for a lot of people The Matrix was the better movie.
I hope you two react to parts 2 and 3 too, to delve deeper into the rabbit hole.
Everyone who sees The Matrix is amazed by the way you can learn things in the world from the Matrix, I can't exclude myself from that.😅
I would like to suggest the movie Constantine (2005) for a reaction.
It's basically a DC Comics movie but with some horror elements. I think it's a bit like The Matrix except that it's about religion rather than technology.
That was an awesome reaction Angels and a great analysis of the movie at the end.💜

the main actor of this film, Keanu Reeves, is a really nice guy. he rides the subway and offers his seat to old people, sits in the park and shares sandwiches with homeless people. not for the camera or publicity, just because that's how he is. He does many of his own stunts and when his girlfriend died he had no other partner for over 20 years.

We don't even have to get metaphysical with it; we are born into a society that existed before us, one that we had no choice in its creation. As the Angels picked up on: we rely on adults to tell us what reality is, what is good and bad. These adults were also born into a society and were taught what is and what isn't. We are slaves to our ideologies: our social programming, like the characters were slaves to the Matrix. We are running a socially agreed-upon set of rules, which is essentially running a 'program'.
The good news is that there are different ideologies, i.e., different matrices, and traversing through each other's ideologies will allow us to see that these rules, although necessary, are still arbitrary. Our ideologies change when we meet people of different cultures and learn what they believe in, contrasting it with our own -- "when our worlds (matrices) meet," so to speak. The people who are interested in learning about others are the ones that instigate change in their respective societies.
Note: This is an over simplified metaphor of social reality of course. We have more agency from our social programming than the characters in the Matrix did. Also I just learned: sometimes meeting of worlds reinforces ideologies.

Great reaction to a great movie. It's a movie that gets you thinking once you start to understand the plot. Also I think if you are ever trying to sneak into somewhere then don't bring Tien. She would be ra ta ta ta the whole time. Had me cracking me up lol.
If you reeeaally want more Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving) then there's always The Lord the Rings trilogy. *hint hint nudge nudge*

This is the first of The Matrix trilogy, Reloaded and Revelations are the next two. The plot of humans vs Machines is a common theme. This movie started the slow mo shots in hollywood. This movie messes with everyone's mind with the subtext.

Good film. Keanu Reeves is a good actor and is a very down to earth person. If you gals like Keanu Reeves I recommend reacting to the movie Point Break (1991 version).
