Why is gladiator not here? This is the first time I texted you.

Commodus was a real roman emperor who was killed by a Gladiator. Another movie set in this time period is Pompeii (2014). A TV show that combines gladiator's and with a 300 feel is Spartacus which is linked historical events.

Braveheart would be another great film to react to and it the 30th anniversary of the movie this year.

This is a great movie! Russell Crowe is also an awesome actor too. Watching any Russell Crowe movie reminds me of when South Park made an episode called Russell Crowe fighting around the world. He used to get into fights with people at bars and other places. Here is a short a short clip of that show I’d like to share. It’s quite silly but you might get a laugh out of it. https://youtu.be/UKfi-km-U9w?si=1LHmUVQiUsM-3NxB

I was also in the military at that time. I saw this in the ONLY DRIVE IN THEATER on a military base in the world!! It was fantastic to see it like that. I have watched this movie many times since then and it doesn't have the same nostalgia that drive in theater has.

I love this movie. It's kind of funny how movies sometimes become inextricably linked to a period of life. When Gladiator came out in the cinemas I was doing my military service. When I was home on leave after a long time, I went to see Gladiator in the cinema with a few friends. Somehow, whenever I see Gladiator, I always think of that time. Gladiator has definitely become a modern classic. It's one of my favourite Ridley Scott Movies. Russell Crowe played a role in another more or less historical Movie, Robin Hood (2010). The Movie tries to tell a more realistic story of Robin Hood. It's definitely worth a reaction. That was a great reaction Angels, as always!💜

Perfection will be achieved when they watch American Psycho. 😎

Manospondylus

The first battle in the colosseum had the Roman crowd cheering for Carthaginians(Maximus team). Soldiers of Hannibal Barca no less. That is very hard to believe. Romans hated Hannibal and Carthage as much as people could hate anything.

Manospondylus

Marcus Aurelius was a real emperor, but he was also a stoic philosopher. He really did say, "Death smiles at us all, but all a man can do is smile back." Some other quotes of his that I like, "The best revenge is to be unlike him who performed the injury." "The soul becomes dyed with the color of its thoughts." and my favorite, "He who smelt it, delt it." Stoicism, the type of philosophy Aurelius practiced, teaches folks to focus on what they can control, and to get over what they cannot, develop wisdom and inner peace through self-discipline. It's big on emotional control, so if someone rarely shows emotion, we might refer to them as "STOIC". This seems like a reasonable philosophy for life, but I'm more an EPICUREAN. I'm sure you know, but this is the same director that made Alien. Another film of his I like and a sci-fi classic is Blade Runner.

I keep thinking how short this movie would have been if Maximus had gone to any random legionnaires tent. The bulk of the soldiers side with him, overpower the Pretorian guard, movie over.

Manospondylus

Good God, the ice in y'all's drinks was LOUD.

Amazing reaction. This is such a great movie. It was fun seeing you two saying who would want this kind of entertainment followed by cheering like the people in the coliseums two minutes later haha. Although now I want to see an Alligator Gladiator movie.

Looney

Another one of my favorite classic movies, great reaction 😄

You didn’t like the Martian? I think it was very well done.

For my money, Ridley Scott's last good film. (Unrelated to the film, but your outfits this episode are both fashionable and elegant!)
