What a great movie! Top Gun has been a cultural phenomenon in American media and entertainment.
Tien and Lan your facial expressions are hysterical LMAO.
One old Tom Cruise movie I think you two will like is called Rain Man. It's a tear jerker and a classic.

Goose's head hit the canopy of the jet when he was rocketed from the F-14, he probably broke his neck. or his head was crushed by the impact with the canopy. Love you girls!

I love it how you didn't initially get it about the 'call signs'. From what I've been told your call sign is not something that you get to choose, your peers choose it for you. It usually derives from something funny/weird about you or an embarrassing moment that you'd like to forget. Everybody please feel free to chime in on what you think each of these ladies' call sign should be. I have no idea where to start.

At Fighter Weapons School, any reference to the Top Gun Movies is an instant $10 fine.
Tom's character was a POS, he would have stood for punishment on several occasions. The flyby? Revoking of flight status and Courts Martial. Following Charlie in the Ladies Room is Conduct Unbecoming and few other charges. Going below the Hard Deck, Failure to Follow a Lawful Order..... I can keep going. its a great movie in the camp sense, bad on how it makes the Navy look in handling Discipline.
The guy Charlie meets in the bar, was the Technical Advisor for the pilot stuff.

I hope you two watch Hot Shots from 1991 (the first one only) after this. It's basically like Spaceballs for Top Gun.

Yes, Hot Shots is a great parody of Top Gun.
Then the Angels just have to watch Rambo 1 through 4 and then Hot Shots 2.😅

Angels behave.😅
I really like your relationship analyses in the reactions, especially Tien's improvised red flag was so cute.
It's interesting that Lan says the movie is the music video for Take My Breath Away.
Top Gun is one of the movies that belongs to the MTV generation of movies.
Like music videos, it had fast cuts, a good-looking young cast, a great soundtrack and a relatively straight-forward story.
Tom Cruise was the poster actor of the MTV generation and played in several of these movies.
Since you liked Top Gun, maybe you should react to Days of Thunder (1990). Also starring Tom Cruise, it's basically Top Gun with NASCARs.
Goose died when the ejection seats were ejected from the cockpit.
During the emergency exit, the cockpit roof was blown off and the seats were thrown out shortly afterwards.
Due to the rotation of the jet, Goose crashed into the cockpit roof at high speed, which is the cause of his death.
All jets still have an automatic cannon, but to reduce weight they only have ammunition for a few short fire bursts.
Additionally, the jets fly so fast that they're almost impossible to hit with conventional cannons, so they're only a last resort in a dangerous situation.
The next generation of jets will completely do away with conventional cannons.
This movie made the F-14 Tomcat one of the most popular and recognizable jets in the world in the 80s.
It's such an awesome design, simply perfect.
That was a great reaction, ladies, as always.💜

Goose slammed into the plane canopy when they were ejected. If you watch it back you'll see it.

Your reaction was great, just to explain 'Goose' dies from his head hitting the canopy (Metal & Perspects covering) as they eject from the aircraft (you may need to watch again in slo-mo to see this happen). Also as you both probably guessed from your reaction the soundtrack for this movie was very popular at the time of this movies release (yes, I bought a copy of it with my allowance from my parents). Then the volleyball match is often viewed as an Iconic 'Gay' eye-candy scene in modern Hollywood cinema. Finally it is probably worthwhile since you have watched this to see the comedy movie 'Hot Shots', which is largely a parody of 'Top-gun'.

When you said "this movie is like the music video for this song," you are actually correct. Most songs in the movie were written specifically for the movie, "Take My Breath Away" included! The actual music video is about 50% shots from the movie.
