You are so adorable ! Please let us know if you have other projects on top of reactions to movies. Because I do believe you should start a Vlog together. I'm a new Patron, so just seeing you react to this for the first time. If you enjoy these western movies, I would HIGHLY recommend THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY, it's an absolute CLASSIC!

At the end of the movie, Doc tells Wyatt to marry an actress.
Is that really good advice? 😜

While I am late to the party with these comments, I am not sure if you read or see them, but here goes anyway. The story of Wyatt Earp, Behan (the sheriff), and the Clanton-McClaury gang was much more complicated than this movie portrays. Josephine (the actress and later Wyatt's wife) was also involved with Behan and it was quite the love triangle. Wyatt and Ike Clanton were in business together at times but they had a falling out. For any US Netflix viewers, there is a good documentary about Wyatt Earp and his dealings in Tombstone.
Cowboy is the english version of the Spanish word Vaquero, which is where the cowboys got their look. They copies the vaqueros and were called cowboys.
I will stop there as the story is quite sordid and difficult. I will say I laughed out loud with the "shotgun, not shortgun" comment and Tien's reaction to that. Hilarious!
Relationships were also complicated back then and cousins getting together was not all that uncommon. In some communities many of the families were related to one another in some way. So it sounds bad and is not usual now, it wasn't too strange back then.

This! When Wayne (the biggest Western star of all time) was a young actor, Wyatt was consulting for movies. Wayne (real name Marion Morrison) picked up Wyatt's walk and style of talking.

That's a great line! What's neat too is when he spins his pistols there, he spins them in opposite directions.

Val Kilmer's depiction of Doc Holliday is my favorite character of all time. He had tuberculosis, which was a fatal lung disease. The story was that he wasn't afraid of dying in gunfights, because he was going to die anyways. That's why he was so brave.
That's a nice dress, Tien. The sleeves are like the old western style. I love the western movies.

Oh, so the gang is called the Cowboys, but that is just the name of the gang. They aren't real cowboys because they don't work on a ranch and raise cattle.
Cowboy is a general term for someone who works on a ranch and most likely with cows.
There is also an American Football team called the Cowboys. Another group of guys who call themselves Cowboys but don't actually raise cattle.

Wyatt's wife is addicted to Laudnum. Laudnum was very popular around this time, 1880s, as pain medication, and really as a wonder drug, but it is highly addictive because it's 10 percent opium and 90 percent alcohol.
Opium was a general problem in the old west. The Chinese immigrants brought it with them and it was a big hit. haha.

John Wayne who is probably the most famous actor for cowboy movies imitated Wyaat's walk in all his movies. Kurt here did the same thing.

Someone mentioned Heat (1995). I second that. It's got the best shootout scene ever put to film. Same director of The Last of the Mohicans (1992) both amazing movies but the latter has maybe the best soundtrack ever and some amazing scenes from the Appalachian mountain range.

Badass movie!
One of my uncle's looks like Kurt Russell (the guy who played Wyatt Earp). This is also one of his favorite movies too.
Thanks for reacting!

This is my favorite western movie. Very cool to see you react to it. Don't worry about not understanding a lot of the things they say. They are using very old expressions and slang that are hard for even an American today to understand.

The word "cowboy" and the name of the gang "The Cowboys" are not related. Cowboy is a profession which tends to livestock and works on ranches or farms. "The Cowboys" is just the name of the gang in the movie. The word "cowboy" can also have many connotations when used as more of a slang term.

"It's a shotgun, not a shortgun" That made me laugh. The way they talk can be kinda hard to follow. It is a movie that is based on real life events. You can go to Tombstone, Arizona and visit the location of the shootout at the OK Corral, which I believe is somewhat accurate how it went down in real life.
Johnny Ringo was actually found dead next to a tree in real life. Some people suspect he took his own life while others think he was killed. Another movie you two may like is Young Guns 1 and Young Guns 2. It's a western that follows Billy the Kid (real person)
