You ladies have done a number of American-made war movies lately, and I definitely hope you are applying a critical lens to them. As you may have noticed already, a lot of American war movies have a tendency of, even if they show war to be brutal and terrifying, ultimately having a message that casts elements of it as noble or honorable. I would recommend a film like "All Quiet on the Western Front". It does a better job of showing war for what it is: a meatgrinder that chews up the poor and the working class of nations as they fight for the interests of the wealthy and powerful who profit from their deaths. To borrow a quote from a character in the game Mass Effect 3: "Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls, and ask the ghosts if honor matters. The silence is your answer."

It is easily accessible on YouTube with English subtitles. I'm not sure they will, however. It is a very difficult watch, but in the same vein as Grave of the Fireflies and Schindler's List, it's a important film everyone should see at least once. It's probably not surprising that Spielberg reportedly screened Come and See prior to making both Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan.

I do think the Ambassador that died had good intentions and was really trying to help Libya. Sadly, Libya is still very much not a stable country. Im not expert on the region, but I know they were fighting there this month.
