The term “highborn’ simply means rich or wealthy. Also if you haven’t figured out this is a fantasy world where winter and summer really does last for years. Winter really means winter and summer really means summer.

2025-07-09 23:24:44 +0000 UTCOne thing you may have missed here is that Ser Jorah (the guy advising Daenerys ) is the son of the Commander of the Night's Watch. Their last name is Mormont. There are a lot of characters in this show, like a LOT! You may want to take notes. There are 73 episodes so you're going to be here for some time. The show is based on the series of novels by George R.R. Martin of which five have actually been written while the sixth is partially written and the seventh is in the wind. The show covers the five existing books plus parts of the sixth book. The author gave the showrunners an outline of the sixth book so they could finish the TV series. The author is 76 years old and writes very slowly so I very much doubt that the sixth and seventh books will ever be finished.
