At the end you mention wanting to see Sauron properly, they did actually film Aragorn fighting Sauron at the black gate but decided to replace him with with the troll afterwards. 2025-08-03 14:15:44 +0000 UTCSam actually does get to go with Frodo! ... in the end, after Rosie dies after a long life, Sam leaves the Shire to cross the ocean and reunite with Frodo and the others. The last person to see him in the Shire is his daughter. All ring-bearers go to the Grey Havens, and Sam counts because he carried Frodo the last bit. (I'm sure a bunch of people already explained this comments, but there it is just in case :) )
