It’s never mentioned in the movies but Gandalf is basically a god sent to help with Sauron, which is why he leaves at the end of Return of the King.

2025-07-25 08:54:46 +0000 UTCThe One Ring is not fully awake, yet which is why Bilbo could hold it for so long and not be affected as badly as Frodo was affected as when Frodo was carrying it the Ring was fully awake and trying to get back to Sauron. Love you girls!
