Fun fact, that deer was real. Charles Dance was asked before the shoot if he knew how to skin a stag, he said no, he was given a quick run-down and butchered that stag in a single shoot.

If I remember right the Vietnamese would use guerrilla tactics until the Mongol force got impatient and split up. Then defeat in detail.

Did the angels realize what Tywin was butchering. A Stag 🦌 the sigil of the Baratheon family. And yes it was real.

Absolutely loving this next go around the Game of Thrones, it has such amazing dialogue and world building and seeing you two get drawn in is so amazing.
Some sort of ongoing tracker of the characters, their relationships and the settings would be fun and good for discussion. I've seen another channel cover a whiteboard in the map, characters and notes, but it may be hard to get photos while avoiding spoilers.

The actor that plays Khal Drogo is named Jason Momoa. He's also in the Aquaman movies.

"Kill the king. Take the throne. Marry your sister." She's got the game figured out. 😆

In this episode you met one of the best characters of the show, Lord Tywin Lanister, played by the great Charles Dance.
In the North when Maester Luwin said to Theon a prisoner and a guest can be the same. He was alluding to the fact that Theon himself was more or less a prisoner. His father Lord Balon Greyjoy rebelled against the King. Lord Stark put down the rebellion and took Theon, Lord Greyjoy's son, hostage so that his father would not try to rebel again.
Of course Theon had a good and privileged life with the Starks even though they constantly reminded him that he was not one of them. So he was both a guest and a prisoner.
I like your speculation about what will happen next, it will be very entertaining to see the reactions to the next episodes.
That was an awesome reaction Angels, as always.💜

The Dothraki were patterned after the Mongol hordes who conquered China and got as far South as Vietnam in 1258AD. They invaded 4 times, but the Vietnamese managed to hold them off. Eventually the Vietnamese 'bent the knee', but kept control of their own government by paying tribute (gold, silver, copper, pearls) to the Mongol Empire and later dynasties every year. This went on until 1885. France had complete control of Vietnam by 1887.

'The show really gets in your head'. You have no idea. Just ask Hella. I've never seen a reactor cry so much or so often.
Milk of the Poppy is made from opium.
If you continue watching one episode a week it's going to take you a year and a half to get to the end of the series. You should probably make notes about characters because you won't remember a lot of it later on. The series isn't like a movie. It's like 50 movies strung together.

🥳 Oh thank God. This one introduces my favorite character in the show. Mighty Tywin.
