2025-08-20 23:58:13 +0000 UTCThe first few seasons of GoT are so good, it was television as good as it could be. I always wondered where Ned found someone like Syrio Forel. It seems to me that Syrio's title First Sword of Braavos means something and isn't just something he's trying to show off. Ser Barristan Selmy did not disappoint the king. The queen wanted to get rid of him because he is an honorable man who cannot be easily controlled or bought. You will see that the queen has a penchant for taking men of rather questionable morals and talents into her service. The two undead were not White Walkers; the White Walkers have not appeared yet. That was an awesome reaction Angels, as always.π

He knows she wants to learn how to swordfight, but she'll rarely be able to beat people with brute force. Which is why you rarely see women swordfighters in Westeros. The Westerosi style seems to be 50% brute force / 50% technique, while the water dancer style is more like 80% technique and 20% strenght. Ned knew women fighters doesn't really work in Westeros, but knew he couldn't stop her strong will, and gave her the best chance to be a badass anyway! :D Then we got Brienne of Tarth who truly can match most men with brute force... But no spoilers... :D

Season one is just setting up some of the main characters and showing how the clash between the Starks and the Lannisters began. The Munchies started reacting to this over a year ago and they've still got 2 more seasons to go.
