"Is he dead yet?!"
"He's 76 years old leave him alone..."
I know it's a bit mean but oh my god that really got me haha. Made even more funny by the fact fans have been asking that for years now since the books aren't done, these two are so damn hilarious.

There used to be a meme about Sean Bean that he dies in every movie he's in.ð
When the Lord Commander gives Jon the sword and tells him about his son who has disgraced his family. The son is Ser Jorah who now serves Daenerys. And Maester Aemon was not only the Mad King's brother but is therefore also Daenerys's uncle.
I always found it interesting that these two have a connection to the Night's Watch. And that the roles were reversed: in the Night's Watch, a Targaryen serves a Mormont; on the other side of the world, a Mormont serves a Targaryen.
I always wondered how good it would have been if Maester Aemon was in Daenerys' service. She could have benefited so much from his wisdom, it probably would have changed a lot of things.
I read the first Game of Thrones book almost 26 years ago, and I can still remember how shocked I was by Lord Stark's death. I actually had to read the page several times, it was such good writing.
It still stings me like a thorn that we'll probably never get the final Book of the story. I would love to know the true ending.
That was an awesome reaction, Angels, as always.ð

The show is bloodier than the books, with many characters killed in the show still being alive in the books up to the point where Martin stopped writing (he has yet to finish the final books in the series). Either way Stark is dead in the books and the show. He had to die to emphasize the point about the futility of honor in a world that has none, and the penalty for playing the game of thrones and losing.

I remember I was reading the first book in the early 2000s and had no idea what I was getting into. When I got to the part in the book where they killed Ned, I had to read that part over and over, thinking I was misunderstanding something, but when I realized it was true, I threw the book across the room, but a bit later I went to the bookstore to buy the second book. haha.

Angels, you have to remember this series was based on a series of novels that are more a fantasy historical drama series which tells the story of various connected events, rather than telling a story from a particular perspective of heros and villians .
