Health Ledger (William) and Shannyn Sossamon (Jocelyn) are both in another movie together along with Mark Addy (Roland) called The Sin Eater or The Order 2003, it's mystery movie with supernatural elements.

Matthew Finn

they did the pop music as a reference to what the music sounded like to them at the time. same with how the main female character dresses and acts.

Matthew Maxon

Roland was the same guy who plays King Robert in Game of Thrones

Alex Anderson

If you like good comedy movies, that are different, can ya'll react to: 'Joe Dirt', 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall', 'Anchorman', 'Eurotrip', 'Crazy Stupid Love', 'Pitch Perfect', Night at the Roxbury', 'Galaxy Quest', 'I Love You, Man', The Internship', 'Idiocracy', 'When Harry met Sally', and 'Happy Gilmore'

Would love an American Psycho reaction

Harnold S. Plinkett

He did such a good job in "The Dark Knight" as the Joker... you wouldn't recognize him as Heath Ledger.

So the movie in your watch list that Heath Ledger stared in was "The Patriot" as one of Mel Gibson's son's who died. Most people remember Heath playing "Joker" in "The Dark Knight" a Batman 3 part intro series to the comic books. Unfortunately, shortly there after Heath overdosed on drugs and killed himself.

R.I.P Heath Ledger, he was an amazing actor

"Boo-hoo, you go cry with your mother!" I didn't know I needed to hear Tien say that! πŸ˜‚

the scene where Geoff introduces Will at the sword ring for the first time, says all this stuff about how awesome Will is and the crowd just kinda stands there, the extras didn't speak english and didn't realize that was when they were supposed to cheer, so Roland and Wat start cheering and THEN the crowd joins in. It worked so well they kept it in the final cut. The film is set in 1356, which would have made Chaucer only 13 and the black prince would have been 26. I don't think Paul Bettany LOOKED 13 in this one, nor was chaucer already FAMOUS as a writer by that age. The real black prince had a serious disdain for commoners, so there was some, shall we say, creative liberties taken with his character as well. The book of the duchess was written by chaucer in 1368, some 12 years after the events of the film, so there is NO WAY William and company could have heard of it.

I knew you ladies would love it, and I knew Tien as a parent would understand and deeply feel the message of the father's sacrifice in giving up his child so he could have a chance at a better life.

Such an underrated movie

Tien, you didn't recognize Robert Baratheon, haha. In this movie, he plays Roland. When I first saw this film, the anachronisms bothered me a bit, but once I realized the film-makers were taking the structure of a modern sports movie and making it about medieval jousting, I could appreciate it. The character who introduces William is Geoffrey Chaucer, and this is funny because in real life Geoffrey Chaucer is one of the more famous writers/poets of the time period. This film is kind of joking that this is how his career got started-shit-talking at jousting tournaments. If you are American, you were surely forced to read The Canterbury Tales at some point, or at least forced to pretend you read it. The actor that plays him is Paul Bettany who has been in a shit-ton of movies. Heath Ledger, who plays Williams, has sadly passed away, but not before giving some truly great performances. His version of The Joker is pretty great and he's also great in BROKE BACK MOUNTAIN. Alan Tudyk plays Wat, the red-headed guy. He has also been in a shit-ton of movies and done a lot of voice acting. In the latest Superman movie, he is the voice of GARY/4 the robot. But, he's also in one of my favorite movies: TUCKER AND DALE VS EVIL - that would work for Halloween but it is more funny than scary, so could work anytime.

Awesome

Probably one of the least historically accurate knight movies I know, but still fun to watch.πŸ˜… I have to admit, during the scene where William meets his father again, I always have to hold back a few tears. It's very well acted, especially by Christopher Cazenove, the actor who plays William's father. As others have said, 10 Things I Hate About You (1999) is another great movie with Heath Ledger. The movie is a modern (by that, I mean the 90s) high school version of Shakespeare's play The Taming of the Shrew. That was an awesome reaction, as always, ladies.πŸ’œ

Another Heath Ledger movie you'd enjoy is '10 Things I Hate About You' (1999)

Dragonzord_Reptar

True, with a historical writter in it, Geoffrey Chaucer.

Muad san

The "losing for her" part comes from a knights of the Round Table's tale, with Lancelott.

Muad san

Such a fun light-hearted movie. Not to be seen as historical though.

Austin Lee Moyer

One of my favorite movies. I'll watch when I get home
