Milvo

Manospondylus

You look wonderful here Yuri.

Auvern

Thank you sweet ladies for your emotional and heartfelt reaction. This movie is very hard to watch. My grandfather fought there in that beach battle. He was shot, but came home. I cried with you watching here in America. I love all of you ladies for who you are and what you do. I wish sometimes America was as peaceful as your country is now. We are blessed to be able to watch this together on opposite sides of the world. But, I'm honored to watch it with you! I will tell you a sentiment similar to the General in the movie did: I pray that our Heavenly Father bless you, keep you safe, and give you peace! Love from Tulsa, OK, USA.

"Band of Brothers" time?

This movie fills me with sadness and anger. Anger because the current American President has betrayed everything in this story including the beautiful flag flying over the graves of real patriots and real American heroes. This is the America I remember. What happened to it?

Hi Angels! OUCH...It will be a tough one.... You may need some information to fully understand what they're doing there. The 6 June 1944. the allied forces composed of Americans, English, Canadian, Australian, French New-Zealanders, Polish, Norwegians And Belgians for a total of 156 000 mens crossed the channel sea (between England and continental Europe) against 30 000 Germans guarding 80 km of the Atlantic's wall ( a 4400 km long fortification on the coast of Europe made by the Germans). but 350 000 Germans was scattered in the region. The battles took places in the french regions of Normandy( mostly know for this battle and his cows !! and the Mont-Saint-Michel too, if you go to France, you need to see that!!!!). The battle was on 5 Beach: Utah, Omaha (the one in the movie), Gold, Juno and sword. The plan was to break the German's fortification take Normandy, Then paris, meet up with the french resistance, free France and the Benelux (Region for Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg) and hit Germany targeting Berlin and Hitler. At the same time , an another landings was happening in Provence (in southern France, in the Mediterranean sea) and other allied troops fighting in Italy and the Soviets on eastern fronts. Every Year, there's a commemoration in one of many allied cemetery (there's American's one, Canadian's) or other museum or memory places. the veteran and soldiers who fought in the battle of Normandy are always honored guest in those events. last year, there was between 24 and 30 Americans veteran present. 4 400 allied troops where killed and 12 000 allied wounded for between 4000 and 9000 Germans, as 1500 directly killed. on one day....... 😨 the entire battle of Normandy cost more than 100 000 soldiers life (both side) and +- 20 000 civilians.... the war wasn't ended yet... Even today, they're still some wreck and ruin from the Atlantic wall and a lot LOT of cemetery...but to be honest, even on the front of WWI we have military cemeteries everywhere the trench was) At least, now you know what happened. sorry if it was too much. FUBAR means "Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition" πŸ˜… And Helicopters didn't exist yet. they had some models in 1936, but not military one. the technology wasn't that good yet. Edith Piaf is one legend of french singer. one of THE french singer. her name ,Piaf, isn't her real name. this is a nickname, Piaf being a cute slang for Birds . she was called like that because she "sang like a bird" (I don't think so but why not...) The song is called tu es partout" (you're everywhere"). but her most famous is "je vois la vie en rose" ("I'm seeing live in pink" which mean seeing live with a very positive view) and "l'Hymne Γ  l'amour" ("Hymn to love", they used this one for the opening of Olympics games last years sang by Celine Dion ). I'm sorry, I looked for a video with English translation to gave you, but i didn't found it. But if you wish to discover some french classics, Piaf is a great opening to it (but you must like 40's style... so not for me) Damn, this movie was hard.... the violence and gore is very hard on this one... And war is even more awful IRL. poor those guys!! I don't think I saw Yuri cried so much an so often since "Click" and even then she didn't cried that much.😒 Ran too. Please girls take care of you ! I had tears in my eyes. not even for the movie (because I knew how it will end), but because of you. I wish to say something to cheer you up, but i don't know what😒😒 But you make a great job. Yuri even make me laugh: " I speak Vietnamese, I can go on the mission even if I don't speak German or french!" πŸ˜… Can I go with you ? I speak french and English, but no German or Vietnamese πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚ (yes I'm trying to cheer you up, not sure I'm succeeding knowing my bad jokesπŸ˜… ) Please take care of yourself and have a nice day!

a really hard watch (y'all did good - it's tough - makes me emotional too) - still one of the best films ever made IMO.
