As mentioned in the main post, much of the time on this illustration was spent working on multiple layers of linework... One main adjustment I made to the illustration which differed from the reference photo, was the 'Legs'.
I turned the legs inwards to the characters stance look more uncertain and like they could buckle at any moment, whether from embarrassment or from something else.
