Recovery is not Linear

Hey my favourite subs!

So, good news first: the scripts for the Asher stories are done, and the script for the Himbofication hypnosis audio is almost done. I’ll be finishing that script tomorrow, and recording then all on Tuesday. I’m confident that all of the audios will be in your hands this week! Which is good because the month ends on the 31st which is this coming Sunday…

I’ve done quite a bit of work in the background, including even landed on the character art and finished the thumbnail.

You may have noticed that things have been quiet this month. Turns out recovering from burnout is not something I can Type-A my way out of. 🤣 When I got the month off from work, I had so many plans. I was going to meditate every day.  Journal.  Make sure I adjusted my gym routine. I was going to go on walks. I was going to write. I was going to post frequently now that I had so much spare time.

Surprise, surprise! You cannot feel rested when you fill your rest time with “stuff”. While all of the above stuff is great and good and enjoyable for me, it’s still stuff that takes energy, which is in short supply. It’s so against my nature to just SIT and BE and DO NOTHING and allow myself to fully embrace the resting, that I do things that I think I “should” be doing to support my recovery, only to feel tired in the process. We are our own worst enemies!

That being said though, this last week I really feel like I’ve finally reached the point where my energy is finally becoming net-positive. And I’m here to tell YOU to make sure YOU get some rest too. Don’t be like me and try to force yourself through things that might be causing you to burn out.

It looks like somewhere along the way I forgot to Daddy Bear MYSELF. Oh the irony!   Anyway, I can’t wait to release this month’s audios into your grubby paws and see what you think.

Be kind to yourselves.

BearBoss (still getting used to that name!)

Hey, thank you so much, I really appreciate that! It's not something I've had to deal with in the past, so I'm learning a lot about myself in the process. <3

I'm glad to hear you're doing better. Burnout sucks and self care is EXTREMELY important! (I work for a CASA program, we take self care very seriously for our volunteers lol)
