Make a toon shaded coffee cup | Tutorial

Someone requested this. If it's too slow, you can speed it up in the video settings. You can add a shadow with a filled circle. Add a curve circle and in the curve settings switch to 2D curve and change the fill mode to both.

Oh okay gotcha, so you no longer need to set alpha clip for the magic transparency to work, it works automatically, so ignore that part of the video. Here's the space milk stream if anyone needs it in the future: https://www.patreon.com/posts/space-milk-66929503

Got it wrong, apologies again!

Hello, I have the same question, in 4.3.0 Material > Settings is different. I tried searching the Blender manual but I'm not good in navigating it. Thank in advance!

Oh sorry I was trying to recreate the alpha clip effect that you was used to create the magic transparency in other tutorials, mine looks slightly off when viewed at certain angles, but I think I'll keep experimenting with it. Also I'm not sure if you still have the full stream of you making the space milk, if so where can I find it? Edit: Never mind I found the space milk vod haha

Are you trying to create the effect in the video? Which effect? I don't think I use Alpha clip in this video only alpha blend which is the same as the new Blended in render method.

Levente Magony

Yea I was just trying to get the same effect, as currently it looks a little off. I'm still very new to blender so I'm really not sure what do I plug into the color ramp and where do I plug the color ramp into.

Hey, thanks for subscribing 💜 It depends on what you want to do. Change the render method to blended, and you need to add a color ramp and set it to constant and adjust the sliders with that you get the same effect, a sharp line as with alpha clip. But tell me what exactly you're trying to do so I can help you how top achieve it.

Hello! I'm a new subscriber and I was wondering how do you do alpha clip with the new blender 4.3? It seems they've gotten rid of the blend mode and replaced with with render method but i'm not sure how to get the same effect.
