So, Cat Grant. Kinda got a raw deal in canon. She was introduced as a modern love interest for Clark Kent, to shake things up by being attracted to Clark Kent instead of Superman (like Lois) or Clark-Kent-but-she-knows-he's-really-Superman (like Lana). Of course, that didn't really work out, because everyone likes Clois. Even if you don't like Lois, Lana is first runner-up. And if you want an absolute leftfield choice, there's always Maxima.
And somehow she got this flanderized characterization of being the office slut, while in the comics, she has storylines about sexual harassment and being discriminated against because she's seen as having slept her way to the top or slept around to get stories. I suppose what happened is that she was meant as a modern, aggressive LI for Clark, but then when all the characters get updated in rebooted origins or just modernized writing, Lois is made more modern and aggressive, so the only place for Cat to go is 'slut.'
I decided to split the difference and make 'my' Cat a little bit of a ditz and somewhat less than serious, as you might expect from a gossip columnist, but also someone who genuinely cares about Clark and enjoys casual sex. So a slut, if you will, but an ethical one. And looking like Sara Jean Underwood, because why on Earth would you want to turn her into a character from The Devil Wears Prada played by Ally McBeal? Unless you're trying to get people to watch The Devil Wears Prada, and c'mon, it has Adrian Grenier in it.
