4.1 - Jean stares at Emma, eyebrow raised, in a tension breaker after that bit of UST.
JEAN: YOU have something against flirty remarks?
EMMA: (shameless) My remarks aren’t flirty. They’re seductive and witty.
4.2 - Scott swims out past the end of the pier, where a rowboat is moored. (not really important, but visually interesting) We notice that Betsy has disappeared.
4.3 - Underwater, Betsy swims by Scott, grabbing his trunks.
4.4 - Scott whirls around, shocked.
4.5 - Splash panel. Betsy stands in the shadows under the pier, water waist-high, leaning against a piling. Scott’s trunks dangle from one outstretched finger.
BETSY: Missing something?
4.6 - I see these as widescreen panels that will bottom out each page, following Emma and Jean on dry land. They’ll be sunny and well-lit to distinguish them from Scott’s storyline. Anyway, Jean has her eyes closed and her fingers at her temples, presumably psychically keeping tabs on Scott and Betsy. However, in one of those ‘two-headed’ effects that show a character rapidly changing expressions, she is also reacting in surprise to Emma undoing her bikini top, which is tied with a ribbon between her breasts.
JEAN: She’s direct, I’ll give her that…
JEAN: EMMA? What are you doing?
EMMA: You’d think a redhead would be more worried about tanlines.
