Feeling better

Gonna try to get some work done before the month ends so I have a clean slate to start February with. Managed to calm down my baby niece, who was throwing a tantrum and, since she doesn't know any curse words*, shushing her mother repeatedly. Which, you don't want to encourage a kid to disrespect their parent, but it was both cute and hilarious. Still, managed to save the day by suggesting that if the kid wanted quiet, maybe we could go into the backyard and play with the family dog.

Also had my first instance of Scumbag Uncle. My dad and I were catching up on The Expanse and the kid wanders in. And if you watch The Expanse, you know it's not a terribly graphic show, it's not Game of Thrones or anything, but it's not quite appropriate for kids. They shoot people, they say fuck, et al. And in the past, my dad's been reluctant to let the kid watch, like, The Mandalorian or Tailspin. But we were on the same scumbag wavelength, so it's like... "we're not cutting into Expanse Time. Kiddo, pull up a chair, you're learning the F-word."

We'll have her bringing us beers like true white trash in no time.
