Added 2021-03-12 20:00:00 +0000 UTCWriting Dark Angel fic, I do feel a little bad about so many of my plots so far eliding Logan's paralysis. With Cat Scratch Fever, it's basically a PWP AU to the second episode ever, so I both wanted some butterfly effect explaining why this differs from canon and was a little uncomfortable with the notion of superstrong Max She-Hulking a guy in a wheelchair who she barely knows. At least if he's able-bodied, it feels a little less... grimy.
With Risen, it's riffing off the first season's blood transfusion arc, basically going "what if Logan hadn't stumbled in the middle of their almost-kiss?" And then exploring a few more twists from there.
So in my defense, the actual show kinda treats Logan's disability as an 'obstacle' for his and Max's love affair to get past, since once it's 'resolved' by him getting an exoskeleton, they throw in the love bug as a new complication. So I don't know, the show itself pretty much gave him a cure, I'm just doing the same thing in a different--maybe a tiny bit better--way. I'll still try to brainstorm some ideas for cowgirl/reverse cowgirl bits so we can get some sex scenes in the chair.
At the very least, I won't be putting him in a closet-cosplay Batgirl costume and giving him a trans roommate. It's a low bar, but we've managed to be more sensitive than DC Comics!
