Over the past few weeks, we’ve been rethinking how we tell our game’s story. It’s been a challenging but exciting process as we’ve made some big changes to the game’s structure, with lots of time spent refining our ideas. We’ve often felt like we weren’t able to dive as deeply into the story and in-game lore as we wanted with each update. We've had a few bits here and there that were on the necessary quality level, but we've been pushing for more. So far, we've been reworking almost every major system in our game.
New story approach and new acquaintances: In this update, we want to focus on expanding and deepening the story of Senna's preparation for the Ghost Frontier. What was previously revealed through just a few quests has now been expanded into several chapters, each spanning multiple in-game days. The unveiling of new stories and quests will be supported by numerous new named characters, each with their own story arcs, and, of course, adult scenes. In addition to the main story characters, we've significantly increased the number of NPCs in various locations and improved their behavior system.
Updated models and new body types: To create a substantial number of new characters, their appearances/outfits, and animations for them (each character has their own body proportions), we had to fundamentally change our approach to the preparation and creation of our models and textures. In doing that, we've improved materials and increased the polygon count of our models. We now have access to different body types and skin tones, which make the game look even more alive.
New outfits: For each new type of character that's being added we're adding new character outfits depending on the characters' role: Order's uniform for all recruits, Guard armor for our Sisters Enforcers (they're our new addition too), Prisoner rugs for those caught by Order from the outside, new Priestess garments , new underwear outfits for Senna and much more.
Locations: As our story has grown, we've realized the need to update our existing locations and introduce some new ones - a big task for us! Since the game will focus more on Senna's early days as a recruit and her training, we're adding new environments that fit a religious order dedicated to training recruits. Expect to see dorms, a gym, a library, classrooms, a laundry area, and a dining hall. These new locations will provide a much richer and more visually appealing backdrop for the story as it unfolds.
We've slightly re imagined the concept of the Order. The division into castes within the Order now plays a more significant role in our story. Every sister who aspires to climb the ranks must undergo a series of trials, proving her readiness and determination to ascend higher in the hierarchy. Those who wish to become Priestesses must endure a grueling series of trials, testing both their flesh and willpower. We've also incorporated more mature themes into the visual language of the Order, including piercings and various S&M elements. With this update, the Order will be revealed in a new, enhanced light.
This represents our new vision for the project in the near future, and we're actively working to bring each of these aspects to life despite our circumstances.
