Now lets get going π£ Now for the last time! *β«singβ«* "Met you and the light switched on It brightens up my day like the sun When my friends come a-runnin' You were right all along That together we're always better We could turn a sketch into a masterpiece When you're here, I feel like I'm complete You are my Equestria Girls!" *β«singβ«* π π€£ Blizzard or Bust: It was a fun little project, but a bit slow in writing for the pointe to hit, in the end... And Sunset seeing the memory of the snow-flake is a sidejoke (and nudge) to the homeopathic-scene which is controversial as it is pseudoscientific in nature. They claim that water is able to remember what you mixed in before you again diluted and filtered it to pure water... Saving Pinkie's Pie: (I love how its a wordplay on "Saving Private Ryan") Pinkies trouble to bring a fresh soufflΓ© to Rarity every year is way too hilarious when they enter a literal warzone of a snowball-fight this time... I loved everything of it. - All the snowball-fight jokes were references to war-movies... There was a war in MLP against Sombra as one of the alternative timelines. It wasn't as elaborate but it was still one. The Cider Louse Fools: The Flim Flam Brothers are at it again... this time in the human world... But the bamboozlers get bamboozled as they didn't account for Sci-Twi's smartness... - It was alright, as its way to common to do this in other series (you said it: animes). - Apple Blooms petworm was cute though π Winter Break-In: The friends realize they've left the key for the storage locker with toys for a charity event inside the school, which is closed for winter break. I love how they showed all their different ideas about a heist to get the keys out of the school - The Oceans 11, Spy-movie and superhero reference with the music and visuals were great! Sunset's plan and AJ's transformation was absolutely Bad-Ass here! But Sci-Twi took the crown, with the simplest idea there is... but made EPIC! As she just calls Principle Celestia to open the school for them π Dashing Through the Mall: The title is a reference to the first lyric in Jingle Bells, "dashing through the snow". It was very awkward between RD and Zephyr... but holy cow was it also hilarious. But I bet her friends knew, that it was a last minute effort, anyway it was very enjoyable. O Come, All Ye Squashful: At last they come all together for a new Holiday tradition, but they gravely misunderstood and made really embarrassing looking costumes... - FOR FRIENDSHIP! - Next scene... chaos ensues π€£ - It was fun and I loved that math pun RD made π - Also loved that "Last Christmas"-Inspired music tidbit. And Fluttershy's Grape Costume was really adorable π Well, as entertaining as these short episodes were this was an underwhelming "special" as we didn't got a real good end... With that, we've reached the end of the EQG content that exists. Unfortunately, this is what we got instead of a proper conclusion... and sadly, it was scrapped. π As sjones mentioned, it would have been really fascinating to finally learn about the human Sunset - such a missed opportunity, in my opinion. Anyway, here's a statement from Nick Confalone that he shared on Twitter:: "I had pitched Hasbro an hour-long winter special for the end of season 2 [EQG] that would set up a third season, but when it didn't happen we ended up making the winter-shorts-special instead." Sad to see Equestria Girls ending, it was such a amazing spin-off, the more I watched of it and all the shorts, the more I loved it. It had such an own vibe, without losing the original shows vibe and itβs very slice of life and humorous approach with some obstacles sprinkled in with the movies and specials plot-lines, Iβm so glad youβve enjoyed just as much as we did. We appreciate that very much! π And yes, we want a ranking!

2024-11-13 03:40:45 +0000 UTCAt one point it was revealed that EG boss Nick Confalone actually wrote a script for an epic EG finale that would, among other things, have finally revealed what actually happened to the real human Sunset Shimmer. Hasbro apparently rejected it in favor of this. Needless to say, many of us EG fans are quite put out by this news. I suspect upon reading this you will be too.
