Inque - Reign of Darkness (Raw Art)
Added 2024-01-29 10:29:53 +0000 UTC
Inque has finally reached the point of finding her final willing absorbee: Reign the Worldkiller (from Supergirl,) a Kryptonian biological superweapon and the last missing piece of Inque's collection. With her inclusion, Inque adds all of the world-ending potency of a Kryptonian to her already massive arsenal and with absorption at near light-speed in her grasp, the remnants of Earth's population doesn't last long. But when she's done... what's this?! Finally the payoff and finale is looming large - quite literally - over the horizon!
The idea behind this one was one I've been considering for a long long time when it comes to liquid latex: what if that liquid became a drink... that drank YOU? Enter Inque Qola (Taste the Flavor Sexualisation(TM),) the delicious beverage you'll lose yourself in!
As a little fun aside for you guys who support me on the higher tier, here's a list of all the hints and allusions leading up to the reveal we're cliffhanging on:
Throughout her speech uses the same font as a certain someone...
Inque's Solution and the origin story:
- 1. Hints in the story as to how it was strange for a man to be owning a company, hinting at a Matriarchal society
- 2. Inque talks about "taking things" being her "favourite part of the job"
Mother-Daughter time:
- Nothing overt besides mention of Batman as merely an "urban legend", but keep this chapter (Inque capturing, but not absorbing Deanna) in mind for the finale
Bat Catcher:
- 1. Terry McGinnis/Batman Beyond has no prior knowledge of what a Police Station is, as if law enforcement was replaced long enough ago or maybe... did he just forget?
- 2. Orca refers to Inque as "Child", important?
- 3. First mention of the prophesy
- 4. Orca is claimed to have been "favoured" by someone, but the message cuts out
Thalassophobia:
- The first peek at the peak of the latexy things growing over the horizon more and more with each "primary" victim absorbed
Black Ice:
- The second, cryptic mention of the prophesy, held onto by Killer Frost too!
- Orca's personality and memories are briefly shown to exist within Inque
- Inque gets a sense that absorbing her primary victims gives her much greater pleasure as she says it feels natural, a feeling of something more hitting her.
- The second time we see what's over the horizon, growing higher now after Killer Frost's absorption
Black Ice Epilogue story:
- The movie Maxine is watching is called "Electric Love 4", whose close acquaintance might that be about who'd like to be the subject of multiple movie franchises?
- Of all the ways Inque could absorb Maxine, she choses to wait and do it with a full body costume
- Explanation of the 5 "gaps" in Inque's DNA made to fit the four she has now absorbed... and one other
Milton Industries:
- Inque, the junior technician and later, the staff hint again at a Matriarchal society
- Inque is in the facility looking for leads to her missing DNA strains
- Donna Milton/Circe knows one part of the vault combination despite not knowing what the vault is, while Inque and her absorbed cohort somehow know the rest
- Money and jewels in the vault, the favourite treasures of someone in particular
- The half-obscured stamp in the bottom right corner of the card Inque is holding...
- Trigger-phrase Nine Tails, like a certain kind of weapon...
- Orca and Killer Frost's consciousnesses again
- Third mention of the prophesy, but still few details
- Circe says "We really WON'T suit a bat", so what or who will Inque suit?
Downtime:
- A third, much clearer look at the things growing over the horizon and Inque finally mentions noticing them
- Inque asks the important question: Whose prophesy?
- Inque, through summoning her alter-egos, reassures herself that following the phophesy is the right thing to do
Reign of Darkness (this issue spoilers):
- Reign, when she arrives will make various mentions of "her turn" and so on, mentioning the prophesy one last time
- Reign will refuse to answer Inque's questions, but tells her that that all Inque has to do to fulfil it entirely is to finish absorbing humanity; she suggests this will only take five minutes with Kryptonian power, Inque corrects her, that it'll only take 3 1/2 minutes
- The latexy black "mountains" finally rise entirely over the horizon along with what (or rather WHO they're attached to) once Inque as fulfilled the prophesy, it's finally time.
How much of this did you spot? I hope at least a few of these hit home as we've really been building the whole time to the finale, the next chapter of Inque's story of global conquest and growth... which will come in a few months time.
Stay beautiful, Smooth
