Law & Order (pt. 2) — Ad-Free and Early Access

In the second part of this Law & Order episode, we look at how the franchise distorts even more of your rights, including the way the show handles exculpatory evidence, the Fourth Amendment, and that pesky thing called free speech.

The title might change, but enjoy this ad-free version my beautiful patrons. It's currently age-restricted but hopefully that will be cleared up before we go live on Saturday.

I really liked Unbelievable, and I think that it mirrors the relationship a lot of my friends have expressed in regards to true crime, specifically that almost all of these cases have an element of "well the cops just didn't even try"

As a suggestion for anyone who's into SVU for "wouldn't it be nice to live in that world" reasons, might I suggest the limited series "Unbelievable". The beginning is PAINFUL but in a way that makes it easy for anyone and everyone to understand why a rape victim would avoid going to the cops, and THEN we get to see an idealized police response to this kind of trauma, and it's cathartic but in a WHY CAN'T THE REST OF YOU BE HALF THIS DECENT kind of way. It's still copaganda, but it at least openly acknowledges that sometimes police are the absolute worst, and doesn't sugar coat how much that can ruin an innocent person's life.
