If you watched the Creating Mood with Color Tutorial, then you have seen and heard some about the process of this drawing already!
Once I knew that this would be the topic of this month's tutorial, I could have used any piece as an example, but I really wanted to go with a critical event that could have some wild swings of emotions. And what better moment then right before a wedding?
Depending on the situation, a wedding could be a very joyous occasion—a grand 'finale' in a fairytale story. Or it could be a moment of dread and fear if one or both individuals are unwilling, and it is a political marriage or a kidnapping, as it is in the original myth of Hades and Persephone. Such a poignent and yet versatile moment to demonstrate how color moods can help communicate the feeling that this wedding has.
It's also super convenient that it fit perfectly into our Mythic May challenge!
