Be honest. What’s tough for you in art right now?

✨ I’m trying something new and I’d love your input! ✨

👉 What’s the hardest part of your art or creative journey right now?

I’m asking for two reasons:
1️⃣ To better understand your struggles so I can create resources that truly support you.
2️⃣ To open up a space where we can support each other, because chances are, a lot of us are facing the same challenges.

So, what’s been tough for you lately? Drop it in the comments. This is a place to share, empathize, and swap ideas that might help someone else too. 💬💡

UPDATE:
Thank you all SO much for your honest and thoughtful replies here! I'm seeing SO many relatable issues that we should talk about!

I'm seeing a lot having to do with motivation and energy, so I think that's where I'll start brainstorming first but I do want to hit other challenges you guys have brought up as well later on!

Thank you again for your replies. If you are just seeing this post, feel free to still comment.

Motivation

Hanna

I feel as though I have gotten past the beginning stage of art learning where I was constantly learning and improving. Now I am plateauing and not sure how to improve on what I have without specific feedback or more ideas on how to hone the skills I’ve built. I feel as though I need someone to look at my art and tell me what I need to work on to make it better. I can motivate myself to sketch but I’m struggling for motivation to add colour/render. I feel like it’s taking me ages, that it’s not coming out how I wanted, that I’m struggling with colour, backgrounds and everything ends up looking kind of muddy I guess from me second guessing myself. I feel like I’m liking my lineart/sketches but that the process of adding colour is killing my enthusiasm. But I also want to add colour because I love it. Thanks for the opportunity to vent Chrissa, I appreciate you asking 😊🩵
