This week, I spent most of my free time creating fairly elaborate internal scenes, as well as scenes that combine outside views with inside elements, a type of X-ray vision that differs from the X-ray scenes I usually used before.
It's all quite a complex and experimental process, but I think the scenes I created this week are a step in the right direction and will be expanded upon in future videos.
I like the idea of not switching between internal and external views but rather seeing both at the same time. Of course, it might not always be that simple; there are limits to what you can do with certain models and so on.
I added all the new scenes to the video from last week. Its name is now "Ahri 01 - tentacles continue temporary v2." Find it on the usual sites.
The seed has been sown; I'd say that the first Ahri episode is 90% done. I need to craft its ending, add voiceover, and combine the temporary videos to create the full version. But there is one more thing to consider.
The episode is a mix of scenes rendered in both Eevee and Cycles. Looking at the comparison pictures, scenes made in cycles have far better shadows and lighting but take very long to render—usually 1 day and night for just one scene, 10 to 20 seconds of video.
I'll have to decide which scenes need the 'Cycles treatment' and how much time it will cost. In any case, the video "Ahri 01" should be complete sometime around Christmas.
Since videos 02 and 03 are already finished (that's the Tifa interlude and the Displacer encounter), we will then move to 04—the YoRHa 2B interlude.
