Why is Anji?: When a Suki variant wasn't enough like Suki...

Like most of my creations, the origin of Anji was also a complete accident. I didn't want to overload my canon with futanari, as I felt it made Suki less of a special character, and I didn't want to end up making things so one-note.
Those who have been around for a LONG while might remember when I made a daily image in december based around a theme from a twitter game I found. When one of the images was "rebel" I decided to design Suki as a punk character, and the result was so hot that I opened myself up to the idea of "Suki variants".

As the first was Suchiko, I started to think of other archetypes I could place Suki into.
Before I get into that, let's fast-forward to the final result of what originally was supposed to "future Suki".You probably recognize this image as "Tsukino", the purely female Suki from the Futanaka/Futanari Tamer timeline. (This is/was supposed to be Suki from further in the timeline, but I'm considering doing some basic changes to this one and making her more in line with regular Suki.) This idea came about when I located a muscular body type in the mods on Koikatsu, which would have made the design of characters like Meg and Lia way easier if I had seen them back when I started making the characters.
When swapping Suki's body with the muscular one, I liked how she looked and after making this caption comic, I set out to make a "future Suki" who can gained confidence and musculature from working out.

This version was still a little close to normal Suki, and didn't have the abs texture. Not to mention that the muscular body doesn't get along well with a lot of the clothing options in KK, so I dedided to start making Suki anew, with new outfits.

As I tend to do when making characters, I rationalize reasons for why they look or act the way they do, and started to pick apart things about normal Suki that a future confident variant of herself wouldn't be.

For starters, Suki's reliance on pink and long skirts in most of her outfits is a means of steering toward her feminine side, being ashamed of her penis. With confidence, Suki would wear tighter and more showy clothes, and be willing to let her penis reach larger sizes... something that would showcase her bulge without shame...

Suki's move to being athletic, and embracing more of her masculine side, I figured maybe giving her a short/pixie cut would help showcase she's more willing to play up her androgyny....

Being more athletic and less willing to shy away from public, I could imagine Suki getting a fairly deep tan. I went over giving her some tan lines, but I still felt something could go further...

I remembered that Suki only dyes her hair as a distraction, and she's normally an ash brown-haired girl. I was about to change her hair color when I noticed something looking at the overall result of this "future Suki" redesign....

THIS ISN'T SUKI.

I realized I was going way too far with the confidence angle. Suki wasn't going to do a complete 180 with her personality just because she started lifting weights, and everything I was making felt like a betrayal of the character, and forgot what made her the way she was in the first place....

...but I still liked a lot of those ideas. Instead of being ashamed of her size, what if a futanari strived to get larger and larger? What if instead of being overtly feminine with a penis being an unfortunate addition, a futanari embraced her masculine side as much as her feminine, showcasing her real androgyny, and freely swapping their gender expression as easily as anyone could.

Then it was realizing that Pixie cuts and brown hair was enough to make a massive difference I went out to modify "future Suki" into a whole new character, "Ann Derojin" (which if none have you have figured it out by now, is a romaji spelling/pronunciation of "Androgyne")
The name Anji came about looking for unisex names for Japanese characters when I remembered another pretty boy Japanese character by the name of "Anji Mito" from Guilty Gear. The fact that Anji took characters from Ann and Derojin made me think it was the perfect "blended" name of Ann's desired form.
Even though her true name is Ann Derojin, she'd much rather be called "Anji."

Anji filled a role that a lot of people wanted out of Suki. Suki was shy and miserable, so Anji is cocky and confident. Suki hates that she has a huge penis, while Anji only hates that she isn't bigger than she already is. Suki shys away from the public, and does everything she can to make herself appear more feminine, while Anji has set aside two other personas, one male and one female, to interact with each gender on equal terms.
And while Suki secretly likes the attention she gets for being so big, Anji has a long withheld insecurity, as her family life forced her into being something she didn't feel she was. (Anji's mother hated the fact she was a futanari, and did everything in her power to refuse Anji permission to embrace her masculine side. This is also why Anji has serious mommy issues, and a fetish for MILFs and praise.)

She makes a perfect rival/friend for Suki as she fills the roles Suki was missing, balances out Suki's shame, while driving Suki and herself to be more accepting of who they truly are.

I know I do like to take Anji down a peg, since when she's up against my characters, she's essentially tussling with superhumans, and her long held confidence needs to be challenged a bit. I just hope people don't think I'm picking on her.

I was originally going to introduce Anji in a comic called "Suki's Showdown" which gives a lot more backstory about Anji, what her general deal is, and the first humiliation she received in the one category she was positive she was the best at. (Having a huge dick).
I might still get around to making it, if there's enough demand, even if I think it would be odd to "introduce" a character so many people know a lot about by now.

So there's the TL;DR.
Anji is a variant of a Suki variant who came about when I realized a Suki variant I was creating wasn't anything like Suki anymore.

Feel free to let me know if you have any favorite Anji moments, or if there's something you'd like to see Anji do in an image/comic at some point in the future.
