Chapter 11
Added 2025-05-06 11:59:29 +0000 UTCAfter Serafall spoke, Shoyo's expression grew even more knowing. Sona, assuming he now believed she was a yuri, tightened her grip slightly. In reality, Shoyo had just triggered a new sign-in.
[Ding!]
[Congratulations to the host for triggering a story sign-in! Sign-in level: Diamond!]
[Sign-in story – The Maou Girl's Cosplay Game!]
[The Maou Girl's Cosplay Game: Serafall, the self-proclaimed magical girl Maou, deeply desires someone to play with her—to take the role of the Maou who defeats the magical girl, completing their intertwined storyline..............]
[Sign-in time limit: 180 days.]
The sign-in seemed to require considerable strength. The Maou and magical girl storyline? Shoyo wondered. Does it mean defeating and imprisoning? Or something more...?
Meanwhile, Sona found herself in an awkwardly close position with Serafall.
She could even smell her sister's fragrance. Remembering Shoyo was watching, she quickly pushed Serafall away.
"Ahem... My relationship with my sister isn't like that, Shoyo-kun. Please don't misunderstand," Sona said, her face flushed. Being forced into such compromising situations in front of Shoyo—especially as the dignified student council president—was mortifying.
"Anyway... this is for you, Shoyo-kun. Also, I should mention—I'm actually a devil. You should know that by now."
"Hmm, I just found out," Shoyo replied, eyeing the transparent crystal ball with interest. He was certain this wasn't something Sona or Serafall could have created. Despite being able to see through Ultimate-class devil magic and partially comprehend Maou-level spells, this object remained a mystery.
"That's good. I'll explain everything tomorrow, Shoyo-kun. You must be tired, so we won't disturb you further."
"Just remember—devils aren't evil," Sona added seriously. Since Shoyo hadn't revealed his avatars, she could only sense his spiritual power—now nearly depleted—at Low-class devil level.
"Don't worry, President. If devils were evil, wouldn't you have eaten me by now?" Shoyo chuckled. "I'll study this carefully. My head's full of new knowledge today—needs time to process." He nodded, genuinely intrigued by the crystal ball.
"Then... see you tomorrow, Shoyo-kun." Sona bowed slightly before yanking Serafall's cheek, activating a teleportation circle.
Whoosh!
Like a startled rabbit, Sona vanished with her clingy sister in tow. Too embarrassing...!
---
"Uh... okay." Suddenly alone, Shoyo chuckled wryly. This worked—he could now examine the crystal ball undisturbed. Activating [Vamana the Dwarf], he returned home.
"Need to increase my spiritual power and physical stamina..." Shoyo frowned. With High-class devil-level strength, subduing Kuroka and Bikuo would be trivial—even Serafall wouldn't pose much challenge.
Humans used spiritual power; devils, demonic power; angels, holy power; onmyoji, curse power. Fundamentally similar, just different flavors.
Becoming a devil would grant him at least Middle-class power (High-class within days, given his talent). Yet... he cherished his humanity. Reality, however, differed from expectations.
His potential was monstrous. Though his strength grew rapidly, instant boosts were impossible. After obtaining Vishnu's ten avatars, his body strengthened continuously—projected to reach High-class devil level in three to four months.
If others knew he considered this slow, they'd strangle him. Advancing from Low-class to High-class devil in months would shame even divine descendants.
Physical stamina was another bottleneck. Currently, he could only manifest two avatars simultaneously. A third would've changed his battle with Kuroka.
In reality, using [Krishna] to dismantle magic via Copying Eye, plus [Vamana the Dwarf] for mobility, had barely secured a stalemate.
Sacred Gear users would weep at his thoughts. Low-class devil-level Gear wielders risked death to defeat High-class devils—and only prodigies like Vali succeeded.
"But... what is this?" Shoyo pressed the crystal ball's red button. Sona's gift wouldn't harm him—he was certain.
Beep!
A male phantom materialized above the orb.
"Maou... Ajuka?" Shoyo recognized him instantly.
The phantom spoke:
"Greetings, fortunate youth. I am Ajuka, your instructor during this period, per the Sitri heir's request." His tone was amiable.
Shoyo's eyes narrowed. Sona arranged this? What price did she pay?
"I'll impart advanced magical knowledge—exclusive to devilkind. Leak it, and I'll eliminate you personally."
Shoyo listened. The restrictions were severe, but the magic itself was elementary. Essentially, an offline tutorial—Ajuka lacked time for personal lessons.
"First lesson: Basic magic circle construction..." A small circle flickered in Ajuka's palm.
"Ah, understood." Shoyo hit 'fast-forward'.
"Second lesson: Demonic energy flow..."
"Got it. Next."
With Copying Eye, [Krishna the Dark One]'s authority, and his own computational prowess, Shoyo's learning speed was peerless.
"Lesson 25: External spiritual energy for magic circles..."
"Hmm? Research topic? Mildly interesting."
Minutes later—
"Done." He skipped ahead.
For Shoyo, knowledge was intoxicating. He'd already mastered human-world academics. Better yet, studying strengthened him.
Just as he lost himself in learning—
Ding-dong! Ding-dong!
The doorbell rang late at night.
"Didn't expect her." Shoyo stretched and yawned. Ignoring her risked an icy demise.
Click.
The door revealed snow-white thighs and pink eyes glistening with faux tears. To the naive, she seemed fragile—ripe for manipulation.
Those who acted on such impulses ended as ice sculptures.
"Serafall?... What brings you here?" Shoyo sighed.
