Chapter 75: Knight of the Round Table, Diarmuid
Added 2025-05-26 14:43:24 +0000 UTC"What's that sound?"
Artoria, standing a street away, heard the heartbreaking, tear-inducing cry. "It seems he must be very sad."
"Ah!!"
Diarmuid brandished his spears once more and charged forward. The situation was truly troublesome.
The two spears moved like twin dragons, locked in a fierce struggle with Artoria. To her, the current Diarmuid was no longer a warrior with his own will. As such, she did not take his attacks seriously. Yet, Diarmuid pressed on relentlessly.
"It seems the time has come!"
Not far away, Kiritsugu had already prepared. However, due to the battle between Artoria and Diarmuid—and the fact that Diarmuid’s Command Seals were split between two Masters—Kiritsugu had been searching for a way to eliminate both simultaneously.
"Maiya Hisau!"
"Here!"
"Listen carefully to my orders!"
"Understood!"
Kiritsugu Emiya raised his sniper rifle, aligning the scope with Sola-Ui's head. He took a deep breath. In the silent night, the sound was piercingly clear.
His eyes sharpened, transforming into the predatory gaze of a hawk. His aura grew lethally focused.
"Now!"
Kiritsugu’s finger tightened on the trigger.
Bang!! Bang!!
Two bullets erupted from the barrel, streaking through the night like fiery threads—straight toward Kayneth and Sola-Ui.
At that moment, Kayneth was still observing the battle below. He could sense Diarmuid’s disadvantage, a realization that gnawed at him. His original Servant should have been the mighty King of Conquerors! He had believed his own power would allow Diarmuid to fight at full strength—yet now, he was a cripple.
"No! I still have a chance! If I win, I can—"
Kayneth’s desperate fantasy was cut short.
Bang! Bang!
Two sharp cracks echoed.
A crimson flower bloomed before his eyes.
Blood.
"Why?"
Those were his final words before he slumped into his wheelchair. As Sola-Ui collapsed atop him, Kayneth’s mind flashed back to his days at the Clock Tower.
"Too bad."
He knew now—he would never return.
As for Sola-Ui? Even in death, she would never obtain what she truly desired. That man was forever beyond her reach.
"Lord!!!"
With Kayneth’s death, the Command Seals’ hold shattered. Freed from their constraints, Diarmuid regained his will—but it was too late.
He collapsed near Kayneth’s body. Though he had disapproved of his Master’s actions, this man had still been his lord. His death wounded Diarmuid deeply.
What should I do?
He had failed again—failed to fight with all his strength.
Why must fate treat me this way?
In despair, he gazed at the sky. His knightly ideals, his chivalry—all had been trampled.
"Diarmuid."
Artoria approached, sighing as she looked upon him. When she saw Sola-Ui and Kayneth fall to the bullets, she understood.
Her true Master had acted again.
"Diarmuid, I... I'm sorry."
"No, this isn’t your fault."
Diarmuid stood, facing the encroaching darkness. He could feel his time running out. His body was dissolving into light.
Then—a medal materialized before him.
"What’s this?" Artoria also noticed it.
Diarmuid stared at the medal. He had nothing left to lose.
Then why not gamble one last time?
He seized the medal and shouted toward the distance—
"King Arthur of the distant land! I, Diarmuid Ua Duibhne, hereby swear!"
Resolve hardened his expression. He placed a hand on his weapon, kneeling on one knee.
"My weapons are placed here. A knight pledges allegiance to the perfect king. I will serve you until death! If you accept, bestow your glory upon me!"
"I, Arthur Pendragon, welcome your joining!"
Arthur’s voice echoed through the night—brief, yet decisive.
In that moment, Diarmuid was enveloped in radiant light.
A sublime transformation.
From the brilliance emerged a valiant figure—reborn.
It was Diarmuid, yet not the same.
Behind him now rested two additional longswords—his legendary magic blades, Moralltach and Beagalltach.
This was Diarmuid Ua Duibhne at his peak.
And now—he stood as a true Knight of the Round Table.
