Chapter 76: Tokiomi Tohsaka's Pseudo-Servant Transformation
Added 2025-05-27 14:11:18 +0000 UTCDiarmuid became a Knight of the Round Table, so his original magical energy returned to the Holy Grail. Now, his magical energy would come from Britain. This was inherently a good thing because, at this point, Diarmuid was equivalent to a different kind of departure.
"Hahaha, finally waited!!!" Angra Mainyu felt the gathering of magical energy. However, at this point, he had completely turned into a pig's head!!
"Just you wait, Arthur! I will return soon!!!!" Angra Mainyu shouted madly!! The decision he had planned for so long was finally about to succeed!!! Angra Mainyu transformed into clumps of black mud and disappeared into the ground.
Looking at the vanished Angra Mainyu, Arthur sighed helplessly. The soccer ball was gone just like that. He had finally managed to find something so compatible to "six-four-zero" with great difficulty. (So, you just kicked a human head like a ball!!!)
With Angra Mainyu's disappearance, the magical energy on his body also began to be gradually absorbed back. A dense magical energy surged on Jeanne Alter as well, the evil magical energy slowly rising into the sky like steam. Jeanne Alter also seemed to have lost all her strength and fell directly from the sky.
Arthur quickly ran over and caught Jeanne Alter. Looking at her haggard appearance, he couldn't help but feel a pang of heartache.
"I'm sorry," Jeanne Alter opened her eyes wearily. "I've troubled you again." Her gaze was filled with apology.
"It's alright," Arthur placed his hand on her face. "Rest well. It's too dangerous here now. You should leave first and go to Britain."
Jeanne Alter nodded. Arthur then used his Noble Phantasm, directly sending her to the palace in Britain.
Jeanne also walked over. Arthur asked her to find Diarmuid. If he wasn't mistaken, Angra Mainyu was about to reach his final state. If they weren't careful, they would all be blackened. Only he and Gilgamesh could remain here.
Jeanne, prioritizing the overall situation, nodded and gently kissed Arthur on the cheek.
"You must return soon."
"Don't worry, didn't you see how I handled him just now?" Arthur gave her a reassuring smile. "I'll deal with him quickly."
"Mmm." Jeanne nodded obediently and left.
Arthur chased after Angra Mainyu directly. This time, I will completely deal with you!!!

On the other side...
Looking at Kariya Matou beneath his feet, Tokiomi Tohsaka felt relieved. This man had used some ability to evolve his magical energy to such an extent. If not for the large number of pure gems Arthur had given him beforehand, he might not have easily dealt with him.
"Fortunately, if there had been one less gem, I probably would have lost." After Tokiomi used the last gem, the final worm before him also disappeared.
But at that moment—a Black Key pierced through his body from behind!!!
"How could it be??" Tokiomi looked at Kirei Kotomine behind him in shock. The defensive magecraft during the battle had temporarily saved his life, but with the continuous bleeding, he had no way to resist anymore.
"Why is it you?!" Tokiomi stared at the man before him in despair. His face was filled with joy—desperate, yet confused. He truly didn’t understand why Kirei wanted to kill him!!!
"Why? You want the Holy Grail? But that's impossible. Without a Servant, you can't defeat the two kings! So, what are you after?" Tokiomi gritted his teeth.
"Nothing, just interesting."
Kirei’s reply made Tokiomi feel as if he had fallen into an icy river.
"Interesting? Just that?" Tokiomi still couldn’t comprehend. However, Kirei didn’t intend to explain further. Watching his teacher die little by little, witnessing his helpless and confused expression—wasn’t that interesting?
"Just that."
Tokiomi tried to stand and retaliate with magecraft, but he no longer had the strength.
Kirei sensed something and glanced into the distance. "Teacher, blame it on you being too strong. Gilgamesh, the King of Heroes, plus King Arthur, whose depths are unknown—such power even he fears. But after killing you, Gilgamesh, with only a portion of his magical energy, will no longer be a threat."
Kirei turned and left, finding it more amusing to let Tokiomi wait for death alone. A stab to the heart—even a powerful magus would die!!
Tokiomi watched Kirei depart, his thoughts racing. It was said a person’s mind was most active before death. At this moment, he seemed to see his two daughters and his unattainable dream.
At the same time, a badge fell beside him—the one Arthur had given him. (Different from the Knights of the Round Table's insignia.) The magic circuits inscribed on it glowed once more.
"This is..." Tokiomi stretched out his hand. With his last strength, he touched the badge—and breathed his last.
At the moment of death, the badge's energy activated.
"Target death confirmed. Conditions met. Heroic Spirit transformation initiated."
Light enveloped Tokiomi.
"Target does not meet Heroic Spirit transformation condition 03—insufficient legend enhancement. Internal energy exceeds Heroic Spirit baseline. Pseudo-Servant transformation possible."
A cold light shone brightly, and Tokiomi vanished from the ground.
Arthur had thrown this badge to Tokiomi before the battle as a precaution. (Arthur didn’t directly tell Tokiomi that Kirei was an enemy. First, because Gilgamesh hadn’t enlightened him, so Kirei might not have awakened. Second, accusing someone close—a respectful student and friend’s child—while being an unfamiliar Servant, would likely breed distrust.)
Tokiomi Tohsaka—Eliminated from Holy Grail War!!!

Meanwhile...
Arthur moved like a golden arrow through Fuyuki’s shadows, his senses locked onto Angra Mainyu’s vile energy. The atmosphere was a storm of magical feedback—the echoes of defeated Servants, the agitated thrum of the Greater Grail, and the repulsive signature of All the World’s Evil.
That abomination is making a direct play for the Grail itself, Arthur realized grimly. With multiple Servants defeated, their spiritual cores have returned. Angra Mainyu intends to gorge itself on that power, achieve true incarnation, and drown the world in its corruption!
A fleeting thought crossed his mind—the badge he’d given Tokiomi had activated. Good. One variable stabilized. But the immediate threat is Angra Mainyu.
The trail of corrupted mana led him to the Fuyuki Civic Center, a designated Grail manifestation site. The oppressive weight of Angra Mainyu’s presence intensified, making the air thick and heavy. The city’s stones seemed to weep black tears.
He burst into the auditorium. Suspended above the stage pulsed the Holy Grail—not a resplendent chalice, but a seething cauldron of raw power, veins of black corruption snaking through its golden aura.
A mass of black mud—Angra Mainyu, no longer a fragment but a consolidating horror—writhed before the Grail, tendrils sinking into its light, dimming it wherever they touched.
"So, this is your design, Angra Mainyu," Arthur said, Excalibur blazing in his hand. "To corrupt the Grail and unleash your evil upon the world."
A distorted chuckle echoed. "The Grail calls to me, King Arthur. It understands true desire—true suffering. It will be my vessel! This world will know its true master!"
Arthur braced himself. This was not a skirmish—it was a battle for the Grail’s soul, and perhaps the world itself. The energy swirling around the Grail was staggering. If Angra Mainyu succeeded—the consequences were unthinkable.
As he prepared to strike, another presence entered—Artoria. Her gaze was fixed on the Grail, seeking her wish, unaware of the horror before it.
Arthur’s heart clenched. No. Not like this.
Before he could warn her, another figure emerged—Kiritsugu Emiya, his face unreadable, Command Seals glinting ominously on his hand.
Please, not like this.
