Gilgamesh unleashed all of her Noble Phantasms directly!
The Noble Phantasms transformed into a rainstorm—countless weapons falling like droplets from the heavens, completely sealing off all of Arthur's escape routes!
Arthur’s movements showed no panic. A brilliant light emerged around him, and hundreds more points of radiance enveloped his form.
Avalon!!
The barrage of Noble Phantasms failed to pierce Arthur’s defense. But Gilgamesh never expected that barrage to defeat him in the first place. At the same time as launching the initial volley, she summoned forth her ultimate Noble Phantasm!
This—this was her strongest weapon!!
Ea!!!!
Gilgamesh continuously poured magical energy into Ea!!
Arthur also instantly drew his sword. He surged with magical power, releasing it in full force!
EX...
Calibur...!!!
Arthur ignored the enemy in front of him and brought his sword crashing down!
Enuma Elish!!!
A massive torrent of red magic surged forth once again! The fearless Gilgamesh met the corrupted Arthur head-on!!
Black light and crimson energy collided in the sky once more!! The resulting shockwave tore through the heavens, dispersing the clouds instantly. Trees were uprooted! Dust surged across the earth. Everything within range of their clash was reduced to rubble!!!
"Haha! As expected, this is my friend!! This kind of power—this is what I wanted to see!!!"
Gilgamesh’s excitement surged again. A man like this—he was worthy of her!!
On one side stood the oldest king in the world—Gilgamesh!
On the other, the great monarch of Camelot—Arthur Pendragon!
Their battle allowed no retreat!!!
Though Gilgamesh had greater magical reserves, Arthur possessed the skill Magic Surge. With a constant stream of energy, Arthur had not yet grown overly fatigued!
Minutes passed. By now, there were no spectators left—only the War King's group watching from afar!
"King, who exactly are they? Why have I never heard their names before...?" Vattler, standing nearby in a tattered white suit, asked with confusion. Despite his disheveled appearance, his eyes remained locked on the overwhelming clash before him.
"I don’t know either," the War King replied, shaking his head. He had always believed that, as a True Ancestor vampire, he was the strongest being alive. But now, witnessing the clash of these two warriors, he finally understood what it meant to say ‘there’s always someone stronger’—‘a sky beyond the sky.’
Meanwhile, the clash of magical energy between the two continued, but both began to feel the strain.
Arthur had endured multiple battles—against a True Ancestor, Angra Mainyu, and now Gilgamesh. Even with his rapid magical recovery, he couldn’t fight indefinitely.
The same went for Gilgamesh. Without her Master, her magical power had waned. If she hadn’t absorbed a significant amount of energy earlier, she would’ve already returned to the Throne of Heroes!!
"Damn it, at this rate, I might not hold on!" Gilgamesh grimaced, staring at Arthur before her.
At that moment, she noticed that the darkness cloaking Arthur’s body had begun to fade. His blue armor was slowly returning to its original luster.
“It seems his corruption is nearing its end,” Gilgamesh said with a smile.
"Arthur!! Have you lost yourself over just this little bit of magical power!!!" Gilgamesh roared.
"Don’t make me look down on you! Didn’t you say you’d settle things with me? What about your promise? What about your kingly pride?! Are you just going to throw all that away!!!"
Arthur heard Gilgamesh’s voice. The black aura around him trembled slightly—as though he were lost in thought.
"Who am I...? And who is that person? Why is he talking to me like that...?"
A sharp pain struck Arthur’s head as if it were being torn apart. The aura around him flickered—one moment the radiant light of a king, the next the malice of darkness! The alternating forces caused his head to throb violently. The sword in his hand slipped from his grasp, dissolving into magical energy and vanishing.
"Who am I!!"
"You are Arthur!!!"
"Who am I!!!"
"You are the King of Camelot!!!"
"Who exactly am I!!!"
"You are the one I, Gilgamesh, am fond of!!!"
"Ah!!"
Arthur stood dumbfounded. He had just heard something outrageous.
It sounded like a man said he liked him!!!
Ugh!!!
Arthur suddenly felt a surge of nausea. A stream of black gas spewed from his mouth, rising into the sky and dispersing. Arthur, finally freed from the corruption, collapsed to the ground, back to his original self.
"...How are you? Are you alright?" Gilgamesh walked over, gently placing her hand on his back.
"Oh, I’m fine." Arthur waved his hand weakly—then, as if remembering something, his eyes widened. He looked at Gilgamesh, who was gazing at him with concern. Suddenly, he backed away several meters in shock.
"You... you... you..."
"What about me?"
"You just now... it seemed like you said..." Arthur stammered, too embarrassed to finish his sentence. He could only point a trembling finger at her.
"I like you." Gilgamesh looked at him and couldn’t help but smile. It had been a long time since she’d seen Arthur like this—so flustered, so vulnerable.
"Don't joke around!!" Arthur shouted, nearly hysterical. He was about to lose his mind!!
How could this be happening?! He was a proper man!!
"I’m not joking. I, Gilgamesh, just like you. So what?"
"This... Gil, you do understand, right? We’re both men. This is impossible!"
Just imagining them together sent shivers down Arthur’s spine.
"What’s wrong? Same-sex relationships are true love," Gilgamesh said, teasingly. Looking at Arthur’s awkward expression only made her more delighted. This side of Arthur was truly amusing.
"Gil, I’m sorry. I’ve always seen you as a brother, so… you should go find your true love. Believe me, there’s a man out there waiting for you."
After speaking, Arthur turned his head away, avoiding her gaze. At the same time, he prayed silently:
“Will Gilgamesh draw Ea and kill me now? He used to like Lancer... and now He likes me? This is terrifying.”
But to Arthur’s surprise, Gilgamesh simply said:
"Since that’s the case, then fine. I’ll go find a man to play with, then!!"
Arthur felt like his soul had returned from the depths of hell to the heavens. He let out a small sigh of relief.
However, when he turned his head back—
Oh my god!!
What did he just see?!
Who exactly was standing before him?!
