Chapter 90: Yukina Himeragi

At Ayahama Academy, Arthur and Nagisa Akatsuki were walking across the campus.

“Thank you, Akatsuki-san, and sorry for troubling you to show me around the campus,” Arthur said apologetically, glancing at Nagisa Akatsuki beside him.

“It’s no trouble at all. I’m very happy to take a walk with the teacher,” Nagisa replied cheerfully, carrying a small schoolbag and looking up at Arthur. She resembled a happy little bird. Perhaps Arthur’s appearance matched the dependable big brother type, so she felt no discomfort around him.

“By the way, teacher, this is the high school department. I know many people here. Oh, my brother also studies here, but his grades aren’t very good. He’s been listless lately—doesn’t study properly at all, and nobody seems to like him… but I still do. After all, he’s my brother, 'Five-Five-Seven,’” she said. Nagisa’s mouth hadn’t stopped since they began walking. Perhaps spending time together had made her feel more familiar with Arthur.

She was the type who wouldn’t stop talking once she was comfortable with someone. Arthur’s head was practically spinning from the constant chatter.

Still, since it was her way of showing enthusiasm, Arthur couldn’t bring himself to refuse. So for most of the walk, Nagisa did nearly all the talking.

“Hey, Nagisa.”

Just as Nagisa was still chattering away, a male voice called out.

“Kojouu-kun! I’m here!” Nagisa called out excitedly when she saw who it was. Dressed in white sportswear with a lethargic expression—it was none other than the Fourth Progenitor himself, Kojou Akatsuki!

“Nagisa, why did you come all the way over here? Shouldn’t you be heading back now?” Kojou asked with a puzzled look. Then he noticed the handsome man standing beside her and glanced at him curiously. “And who’s this?”

“Oh, this is my new teacher! His name is Arthur Pendragon. He’s a great teacher!” Nagisa said cheerfully.

Arthur nodded politely. “Hello, Kojou Akatsuki.”

“Hello, teacher,” Kojou greeted awkwardly. “Um… I wonder if you have some business in the high school department?”

“Business? Of course not. I just came to find someone. Now that I have, I’ll be heading off,” Arthur said with a smile, then looked at them both. “Goodbye, students.”

“Goodbye, teacher,” Nagisa and Kojou replied together, then walked off. Watching them leave, Arthur also began making his way back.

As he strolled through Ayahama Academy, taking in the vibrant energy of the young students around him, Arthur suddenly realized something important—he was lost.

“Where is this…?” he muttered. Arthur normally wasn’t bad with directions, but since he had been so caught up listening to Nagisa talk about the various spots on campus earlier, he hadn’t paid attention to the route. Now, all he could do was wander aimlessly.

He eventually found himself in a small park, where he noticed a young girl—probably around ten years old—glancing around nervously in a small pavilion. She didn’t seem to be in a good situation either.

Out of a sense of helpfulness (though he’d never admit it was because the girl was very cute), Arthur walked over to her.

“Hello, classmate,” Arthur greeted with a friendly smile. The girl was petite, with delicate features and a large guitar case slung over her back.

“Hello,” the girl replied politely.

“Excuse me, are you Yukina Himeragi?” Arthur asked curiously. He had been wondering why he hadn’t seen her today. Initially, he thought it just wasn’t time yet—but it seemed the timeline of this world had already entered the main story.

“Why do you know my name?” Yukina asked, her expression cautious. At this moment, her thoughts were probably beginning to race. To prevent any misunderstandings, Arthur spoke directly.

“I know you because I’m your teacher. You didn’t show up to class today.”

“What?! I’m so sorry, teacher!! I… I…” Yukina panicked. Being caught skipping class was clearly a source of embarrassment. But Arthur wasn’t particularly strict—he was only half a teacher, after all.

“It’s alright. But it looks like you’ve run into some trouble?”

“Yes… I lost my wallet, so I’ve been looking for it,” Yukina said shyly.

“No money? Do you have anywhere to go?”

“No…”

“What will you do tonight?”

“I might have to sleep in the park… but I’ll definitely find my wallet tomorrow!” she replied confidently. But Arthur couldn’t just let a student stay outside overnight.

“If you don’t mind, why don’t you stay at my place for the night?” Arthur offered.

“But wouldn’t that be troubling you, teacher?”

“Not at all. I’m your teacher—this is part of my responsibility.”

“Then… thank you, teacher!” Yukina said gratefully. The two of them then left the park together—well, technically, Yukina left with Arthur.

They caught a taxi. (Don’t ask why Arthur had money—gold was universal currency.) Fortunately, Natsuki Minamiya’s home wasn’t far from the park, so they arrived quickly.

“Teacher, is this your home?” Yukina asked curiously.

“Sort of. I’m staying here for now.”

“Then… won’t the owner of the house be angry?” Yukina looked anxious. She had grown up under the Lion King Organization with almost no friends, so her emotional intelligence wasn’t particularly high.

“It’s fine. She’s also a teacher here. I believe she’ll be very interested in your information.”

“My information?”

“That’s right—the Sword Shaman from the Lion King Organization, correct?” Arthur casually revealed her identity. He wasn’t worried—she’d find out sooner or later, so he figured he might as well get it out of the way. However, just because Arthur was calm didn’t mean Yukina would be.

In the next moment, Yukina immediately entered a battle stance.

“Who exactly are you?! What’s your purpose in bringing me here?!”

“Purpose? Sorry to disappoint you, but I don’t have one,” Arthur replied helplessly. Why did everyone react like this? The moment things got serious, they all assumed he was the enemy. It was honestly disheartening.

Just then—gurgle. A loud stomach growl echoed. Yukina’s face flushed red with embarrassment. Arthur smiled wryly.

“Alright, alright. I’m not your enemy. Just wait here quietly. I’ll get you something to eat.”

With that, Arthur walked away, leaving Yukina silently waiting behind.
