Chapter 94: Arthur's Ambition

Nighttime, inside a supermarket. Arthur was shopping with Yukina Himeragi. There was no other choice. As Yukina's only friend here, if Arthur didn’t help, no one else would.

(Natsuki had a mission, Nagisa Akatsuki had to go home, and as for Kojou—sorry, due to Arthur’s preconceived notions, Yukina didn’t consider him a very good friend.)

Inside the supermarket, as expected, Yukina once again displayed her innocent nature.

"This weapon looks so powerful."

"It’s not a weapon, just a mere baseball bat..."

At this moment, Yukina resembled a curious baby.

"What about this one? It looks like a jetpack weapon..."

"That’s a high-pressure washer, not a weapon," Arthur continued patiently.

"What about this? It’s a very powerful weapon in movies!"

"A chainsaw? Sure, but what movies are you watching, Saw?"

"Wow, there are such terrifying weapons here!!!"

"Isn’t that just detergent..."

"Yes! I remember it can create a particularly powerful poisonous gas. Just mix acid and salt."

"What exactly are they teaching at the Lion King Organization?!" Arthur listened to her words and helplessly covered his head.

However, this also showed Yukina’s cuteness. If not for her innocent personality, Kojou wouldn’t have been able to deceive her so easily in the original work.

After buying toiletries, Arthur didn't take Yukina anywhere near Kojou Akatsuki’s house, and Yukina didn’t object. Her orders were to constantly monitor Kojou Akatsuki and, when the opportunity arose, eliminate him.

However, just yesterday, the Lion King Organization sent another message—telling her to build a good relationship with Arthur and prevent him from taking any destructive actions.

Yukina looked at Arthur’s gentle face and thought silently,
"Teacher Arthur is so gentlemanly and kind to people. How could he possibly endanger the world?"

"What are you thinking about?" Arthur noticed her silence and asked curiously.

"Oh, it’s nothing. I was just thinking that with Teacher’s strength, he must have grand ideals."

"Grand ideals?" Arthur smiled. "I do have ideals, but they’re not really grand."

"Oh? Then what is Teacher’s ideal?" Yukina asked curiously.

"My ideal is simply to be able to control my own destiny."

"Control your own destiny?"

Control himself... Arthur thought of his strange arrival here, and the fact that he now held the identity of a Heroic Spirit. He couldn’t shake the feeling that the system was like an invisible hand, manipulating him. Someone, somewhere, had to be plotting something—but Arthur had yet to discover any clues.

Several lines from a book in his past life suddenly flashed through his mind.

"That’s right! I want this sky, unable to cover my eyes again!

I want this earth, unable to bury my heart!

I want all living beings to understand my will!

I want everything that obstructs me to be reduced to ashes!!!"

A kingly aura suddenly erupted from Arthur. But unlike his usual majestic presence, this aura carried an overwhelming, imperial dominance.

"What!" Yukina was stunned. What a domineering ideal!

Looking at the stern man before her, she felt flustered. But she was also confused—if even True Ancestors couldn’t defeat him, then what else was there to fear?

Arthur didn’t explain, nor did he intend to. He believed that one day, he would truly succeed.

"Sorry, I got a bit carried away just now."
Arthur smiled awkwardly, clearly having startled her.

"My path is still long. I should take it slowly and work harder in the future."

"Senpai, that was—"

"I understand. You might think I’m very strong, but I want to tell you—in this world, there are individuals who, even though they are the same kind of existence as me, I cannot compare to at all..."

Yukina looked at Arthur strangely, not understanding what he meant.

"There are people even stronger than Teacher?"

"Of course." Arthur sighed.

"Our kind of existence is called Heroic Spirit. Heroic Spirits are divided into several ranks: E, D, C, B, A, EX, Quasi-Grand, and Grand. My current strength should be EX."

"EX can destroy a country?" Yukina was genuinely frightened.

What a terrifying group of people! Then wouldn’t Grand-rank be capable of destroying the world?!

"The most powerful existences are those high and mighty Grand-ranks. There are seven of them, maybe more.

Their common trait is that they all possess the power to destroy the world!!" Arthur explained.

"And their destruction isn’t limited to humanity. They can destroy planets!!"

"Such existences... isn’t that really unfair?" Yukina slowly digested the information.

"Alright, I’ve said a lot. It feels like I just vented all my inner complaints. I feel much lighter now."

Arthur smiled gently, placing all those emotions back into his heart.

"Teacher, I believe you will definitely succeed!" Yukina looked at him and offered a sincere encouragement.

"Thank you for your encouragement. In that case," Arthur glanced around,
"let me give you a gift."

"A gift?" Yukina looked at him in surprise.

Arthur led her to a section filled with plush toys. Among them was a claw machine, packed with various stuffed animals.

"Wow!! This is Nekomata Carbon!!!" Yukina smiled brightly, her face lighting up with joy.

"Oh, you know it? In that case, I’ll get this one for you."

"Teacher, can you catch one for me?"

"Of course, no problem!" Arthur pulled out several hundred coins from his pocket and began the arduous task of playing the claw machine.

However, the truth was that even Arthur lacked any talent for these machines. Still, heaven rewards diligence. After spending nearly enough money to buy the entire machine, Arthur finally succeeded in catching the Nekomata Carbon plushie.

"Teacher, thank you!!!" Yukina beamed, holding the small plush toy tightly.

Perhaps in her eyes, this toy was the most precious gift.

It was something she had long hoped for—small, but deeply meaningful.

Sometimes, giving the right gift is far more valuable than giving something expensive.

Watching Yukina’s joyful expression, Arthur also felt warmth in his heart.

To bring love to a girl who lacked affection—perhaps this was the innocent part of Arthur that had long been buried.

This moment was still very harmonious.
But unfortunately, just then, the sound of a distant explosion shattered the tranquility.
