In this chapter: Antonia has to become "Anthony" again for her visiting family. It's only for an afternoon! It should be easy! After all, she was "him" for her whole life before Michael came along. What could possibly go wrong?

I don't know if it was intentional or not, or how interconnected the different story universes are, but it looks to me like Veronica could be Nikki's (Half Sisters) older cross ocean cousin. And Victoria and her Mother-in-law look more related than the Mom and Danny. Antonia looks quite different from her Mom, but that is not unexpected if she has had a lot of plastic surgery. I am sensing there is a lot more to Victoria. I hope so.

2024-11-26 08:23:48 +0000 UTCWow, great story and amazing illustrations, as usual for you. Did not see this reveal coming, especially not this way. She talked about wondering if a longer transition might have given her family more time to accept with less surprise Antonia. But in an odd sort of way she did kind of give her family one last afternoon with Anthony before meeting Antonia. It will still be a shock for them meeting Antonia, but perhaps ever so slightly less so than if she just showed up one day for Christmas, Easter or Sunday dinner. And with the discovery of her impersonation of her former self and unexplained departure and cryptic instructions for Bridget to give them her address in two hours, there are a lot of extreme thoughts that could go through the thoughts of her family. So two hours of stewing in their own suspicions and imagination may actually make her coming out seem a fraction less shocking compared to what their imagination might have offered them. And this second chance to walk a mile in her old shoes seems to have convinced Antonia that even if everything were reversible, there is no going back for her.

I can hardly wait to see what the reaction the fam will have when they get to Antonia’s apartment. Will they recognise Antony as a fem’ed version of himself or will they think that she is Antony’s secret girlfriend 🤔. Love Bridge’s last text. Ooooh the suspense is killing me ☠️🥰

This is another nice touch similar to the likeness in beauty and the ‘if only’ subtext in looks you also ensured was present between Nikki and her Mother in Half Sisters.

2024-11-25 00:28:11 +0000 UTCWhat a fantastic turn of events. I absolutely can't wait for the family to arrive. It's going to be an amazing lunch, I'm sure. That last picture of Antonia is best described by Michael's reaction—"she’s never been so beautiful"—is spot on perfect. And the image of Ant with a beard is priceless... it looks like you borrowed the posture and facial expression from Nikki's pinup archives. The contrast between these two images is stark and truly mark the end of Anthony's awkward and sad existence, replaced by the oh so confident and beautiful Antonia in his place.
