I'm sorry this episode was delayed. I've had a bit of a week! But now we have 22 new pages of Jack & Jill. 😊
I really enjoyed writing this episode. I can't wait to read your thoughts.
In the attachments below I included the dramatis personae pages for Holly and Angela, as well as the transition stories of Ava and Brooke (both of whom we first met at the end of Phase 8). Just in case you needed a refresher on all the characters!

She recognises all the wrong things she’s done, yet slips easily back into that version of herself when she meets Brooke. And Brooke seems blinded too, so focused on her tech goals that they may be more important to her than the goodwill of her proposed companion. Finally, could the suspects in the attempted assassination of Mr Xu please form an orderly queue in Corridor 3? It’s going to take some time but we will get to all 28 of you in due course…

2024-12-27 01:19:53 +0000 UTCGreat episode Emory. I like the way you delve deeper into Holly’s psyche. Showing beneath the fear that controlled so many of her decisions she has a conscience. I was pleased to see Angela (who is looking spectacular) lift Holly from her doldrums and recognise the positive impact she has had on her life. These episodes have a lot of information which helps further clarify, beyond the propaganda a great overview of the Mr Xu’s universe.

But she has been a woman for nearly as long as Holly at this point, and she has found peace and even joy in what her life has become - especially compared to what it was.

Or been a complete spin off. I like Brooke too. i wondrr if as a man she could have been a match with Katherine ( could be to easy that katherine is actually lesbian. Sometime women can be only heterosexual too)

You really capture Holly's dual misery: her inner struggle and self-loathing, both of which are a direct result of having Davis as a "handler" and Xu for "moral philosophy". But Holly is also a great survivor and that is the rest reason my own Xuniverse characters love her so much, especially those to whom she was a handler. Holly is gentle, loving, tender and a survivor which is exactly what these girls need most. 2024-12-26 02:21:34 +0000 UTCGiven all of the subplots you've woven throughout the story, Emory, most appear to be approaching a crescendo... ...Jill is likely just days away from more than one life-changing event, any/either one of which will alter her future forever... ...Mortally wounded, Xu is not only facing his own death, but possibly also the death of the momentous changes he has planned for the future of Second Dawn and many of the story's characters... ...Holly's emerging conscience could just as likely lead to her salvation as lead to her doom... ...Davis is also facing a reckoning, but in his case the likelihood of salvation lies somewhere between slim and none... ...Josie and Emily face uncertain futures as well—will they succeed in their attack on Clinic 12 and then escape unharmed?... and if they do, what fate awaits them?... ...And what of so many of the other "lesser" characters?... will Ryan and Adele join Jill as girlfriends/lovers/assistants if/when they are freed?... will Brooke find happiness with Katherine DeMarco (or some other "compatible" benefactor—anyone but Davis), and will Ava follow in her footsteps as a "happy" companion?... and what fate awaits the other captive girls, most especially Connie?... not to mention other current and former Second Dawn employees (Dr. Hatcher, Dr. Mason, Gina, Mike, Angela, Janelle and others)?... and lastly, will John Larson (presumably widowed or divorced) fall madly in love with Soledad after she saves him from a bullet during the Coming Out Dinner melee and, after a year-long courtship, takes her as his bride and Jill's and Emily's stepmom? Okay, I don't see that last one happening, but I suppose anything is possible in the Xu-niverse. You've packed so much into this epic, it's a wonder you can keep track of all the characters, relationships and action going on. I, along with all of your followers, am anxiously looking forward to how all these storylines resolve over the remainder of Phase 9 through the conclusion in Phase 10.

I like being able to see all these characters socialize so we can get a snapshot of how they're processing everything in the moment. I always like seeing more of Brooke and Ava too, so that was cool.

Good to see Ava and Brooke, and Brooke seems so happy! That's amazing to see. Angela's timing is interesting, Especially when Holly is reflecting on her own sudden appearances. Ava thinking Jill was an actor is a great bit of character work, plus new name drops.
